Hello everyone! My name is Maddalena, and I think I’m a cheerful, curious, open-minded person. I grew up in a small village in the countryside of northern Italy and moved to Milan to study. I recently became licensed as a psychologist, and I’m aiming to find work in clinics, schools, communities, and NGOs. In the future, I hope to move to a place that is more humane, livable, and accessible. Overall, I aspire to lead a more community-oriented and sustainable lifestyle.
During the year I lived in Portugal I realized how precious it is for me to connect with people from all over the world, exchanging ideas and listening to their life stories. I’ve come to realize that one of the things I love is pushing myself outside my comfort zone, and a few months ago I fulfilled my dream of solo backpacking around Brazil wich was one of the most amazing experience of my life.
I can't wait to start this new adventure with Workaway, I'm really motivated and eager to challenge myself in different fields, meet beautiful souls, learn new skills and connect myself with nature.

I’m communicative and empathetic, with a strong aptitude for active listening, and I’m used to working in a team.
I have worked as a babysitter for several families, I specialize in developmental psychology, and I have always loved spending time with children and playing with them.
My native language is Italian, but I’m fluent in English and Portuguese, having lived for a year in Portugal and traveled through Brazil.
I have taken part in various volunteer activities, both in the field of education and in manual work such as gardening, painting, moving, and clearing spaces.
In general, I’m a very attentive and receptive person, eager to learn new skills.

I love spending time outdoors, camping, and hiking, as well as reading, watching movies, and connecting with people around me. I think I'm a creative individual,
I enjoy engaging in manual work and used to create jewelry using stones and wire.
Music is a great passion of mine. I don’t play any instruments (yet), but I never go anywhere without my headphones and I’m always on the lookout for live music and concerts.
