Hi, My name is Lene, I’m 19 years old and from Germany. I just finished my school this year with a vocational diploma in health and social care, and I’m now taking a year off to gain new experiences, learn about different ways of living, and broaden my horizons.

I’m traveling alone and open to meeting new people. I’m very curious about everyday life in other places and enjoy learning about people’s stories, lifestyles, and cultures. I love spending time in nature and discovering new places.

I’ve already traveled to a few countries in Europe, like the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, France, and Greece. What I enjoyed most was the nature and the people I met.

I’m open to helping with many things – gardening, working with animals, handcrafts, cooking, or trying something completely new. I’m very motivated, quick to learn, and happy to help where needed. I have experience with gardening (my father grows vegetables and fruit), and I’ve cared for various animals (we have chickens now, and we used to have a dog, rabbits, quails...). I also enjoy small practical tasks and DIY projects. I like working in a team, but I can also work independently.

My native language is German. I understand English quite well, but I’m still learning to speak it more confidently – I’d love to improve that and I’m thankful for patience and support.

I’m looking for open-minded hosts who enjoy sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas. I’d love to ask questions, learn new skills, and be part of a shared experience.

Over the past few years, I’ve gradually gained a variety of hands-on experience, mostly by helping out at home or with small projects. In my father's garden, I’ve helped with starting plants from seed, making cuttings, and growing vegetables and fruit. I really enjoy harvesting and then processing everything afterwards. For example, we’ve made jam, cakes, and juices from what we grew. I also helped regularly with splitting wood, weeding, and cutting trees and bushes.

In addition, I completed a three-week internship at a garden market that works with people with disabilities. That was a great experience and gave me the chance to see how things work there and be part of it.

I’ve also had quite a bit of contact with animals. I’ve taken care of rabbits, chickens, quails, and dogs.

When it comes to manual work, I’ve helped out with various tasks as well. After we had a burst pipe at home, I helped remove the wallpaper, fill and sand the walls. I’ve also sanded and painted doors, and I was involved in removing and installing windows.

Cooking is something I enjoy, too. I especially like cooking with my grandmother, because I always learn a lot from her and her food just tastes the best.
