Descripción
My name is Chris Lampe and I am most recently from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I am a big skier, hiker, mountain biker, and climber. Just this past year (2021) I hiked from Mexico to Canada along the Continental Divide Trail. I have worked for 7ish years building homes with Habitat for Humanity in Denver, Colorado. I most recently was a snowmaker and facilities maintenance technician for Steamboat Ski Resort in Colorado, USA. In 2011, I lived in Toledo, Spain for 10 weeks and grew rather proficient in the Spanish language. I have also done 6 workaways in Chile, Ecuador, and Colombia where my Spanish continued to improve. I just got back from Costa Rica where I worked on a project not affiliated with workaway, but with a host I met at a workaway in Colombia. There, I met Jazmin, and this would be her first Workaway experience.

Jazz and I really enjoyed out stay with Belinda, Edu, and Mavis. We spent 10 days with the family and worked in the gardens weeding, helped water plants on the property, collected firewood, and helped prep a field for planting.

Chris nos ayudo muchísimo, ya que empezamos a pintar la casa cuando él estuvo aqui y nos ayudo bastante, sobretodo con las parted altas jaja; igualmente en el ordeño y en las demás actividades de la finca.

Estuve con Blanca y su familia un poco menos de un mes. Disfrute mi tiempo muchisimo, y les recomiendo a todos. Es una familia increíble.
Cada dia tienes que ordeñar las vacas a las 04:00 y a las 16:00. Haces esta en grupos de 2 o tres, entonces, si hay mas que dos voluntaries, pueden hacerlo en grupos para no tener que levantarte temprano cada… read more

We had Chris for 3.5 weeks here at the edge of the Amazons in Ecuador. Although the climate was not ideal for Cris hot & humid tropical climate. He would stop working hard and helping where he could.

I spent almost 2 months helping here. I worked mainly with Enrique doing maintenance tasks such as painting, tiling, plant trimming, some demolition, etc. I had a great experience and Enrique is an awesome guy! If you do volunteer for maintenance, at least basic Spanish is necessary as Enrique does not speak much English.
