Descripción
🌿 We come to contribute, learn and connect 🌿
Hello from Denmark!
We are Ida and Kjeld, a married couple at the young aged of 44 and 48, we are looking to be part of projects involving harvesting energy, growing food, handling animals and sustainable building. Well anything offgrid and back to natural use of resources really 🌱 we hope to be part of, help and learn from small scale communities and farmsteads.
At home in Denmark we have three grown-up sons, aged 18, 22 and 24, who we hope to inspire.
We are not looking for a holiday experience, but for opportunities to learn, contribute and share everyday life with people who are passionate about living sustainably and close to nature.
What we bring
We are openminded, hardworking and reliable people who genuinely enjoy helping out and learning by doing. Together through many years, we have gained lots of experience in construction. Building projects like a guest house, a chicken coop, and a shelter to mention some. We are good with animals, daily farm tasks, gardening and outdoor work. Kjeld has a degree in automechanic, I am a midwife, photographer and creativ soul.
Now the house is sold, freed is time for new connections. We look forward to become part of your daily rhythm in a home, farm or community.
We hope to get knowledge for a future homestead/community of our own.
We are especially drawn to projects that help strengthen biodiversity and create a healthier relationship between people and nature like regenerative farming. We would love to learn more about traditional and low-impact ways of living, including food preservation, self-sufficiency, gardening, permaculture and working with animals.
We are fascinated by traditional crafts and skills such as working with wool, natural dyeing, fishing, building with natural materials and off-grid technologies. We value knowledge that has been passed down through generations and would be grateful for the opportunity to learn from people who still practise these methods
A littel more about us :)
Kjeld is a trained mechanic and a self-taught handyman with a talent for finding practical solutions. He enjoys repairs, maintenance, woodworking and building projects of all kinds. He is resourceful, practical and always willing to learn from. He is also a keen fisherman who enjoys spending time outdoors and brings both humour and a positive attitude to everyday life.
Ida is a midwife and birthphotographer with a deep interest in people, nature and traditional knowledge. Ida enjoys documenting everyday life, meaningful human connections and stories that deserve to be shared. She is also curious about herbal medicine and traditional plant-based remedies and would love to learn more about how different cultures use local plants for health and wellbeing.
Although her professional background is very different from Kjeld's, she is equally comfortable with practical work, and uses her creativity to create functional and beautiful outdoor spaces.
Final words
We both speak English and enjoy meeting people from different cultures. We value kindness, curiosity, hard work and meaningful connections.
We hope to become part of your project, contribute in a positive way and learn from the people and places we encounter along the journey. -
