Hello everyone,
I'm Jonny, a 28 years old Italian. Yes, you can call me Jonny maccheroni, Jonny pepperoni or anything you want :).
I have been using Workaway since I was 17 and absolutely loved it ! I've done around 10-15 experiences and each has been fun, open minding and crazy in its own way.
I feel that life is pretty random but this site has definitely played a major role in making it so much more random for me ahah

Thanks to this site, my studies in biological sciences and in cognitive and behavioural research, and all the inspiring people I’ve had the luck to meet along the way, I’ve found myself living a lot of random incredible experiences across the world — from Western Europe to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Senegal, Mexico, Chile, Cuba, Costa Rica, and beyond.

I’ve worked on farms and permaculture projects, made pizzas, protected sea turtles, studied fish biodiversity, collected data on manta rays, sharks, and key fish species, planted corals, and climbed trees to study wild chimpanzee nesting behaviour. I’ve also become a yoga teacher and a dive master, surfed amazing waves, snowboarded, lived with a local family in the savanna, worked in surf camps, hostels, and campings, grilled as a chef, cleaned chalets, and even studied Cuban rhythms.

During most of these experiences and my studies what I've missed the most was playing music, I've grown up in a family playing a lot of music, my dad plays the bass and my brother is now a piano teacher. I've been playing the drums since I was 6, in the last 5 years it was quite hard to find a drum set while travelling but I had few very fun jams here and there, I can definitely still make the situation groovier and play in many styles of music.
I would love to join a Workaway where I can also grow musically, a place with lots of jam session. I'd love to start playing more percussion and get better on the guitar and piano as well.

Another hobby I would really love to cultivate is sailing, I actually have no experience at all but seems like an amazing way of travelling!
I work hard if needed, I like challenges and I'm very good at keeping a big smile on my face and a good mindset, which helps me to learn skills quite fast usually!:)

Other activities I'd love to do, learn more, join and help with are: permaculture, medicinal herbs, conservation projects, yoga, cooking, meditation, diving and free diving.

Of course I would also love to surf sick waves all the time and hike around cool nature! Any of the activity above plus some nice waves or nice hikes in lush nature is already a dream opportunity for me.

I am a dive master;
I am a certified yoga teacher, although I believe I'd still need a couple of years practicing before teaching;
I am quite good at playing the drums, I have been playing for over 20 years and can play in different styles;
I am an "average Joe" in other skills with a good mindset for learning, I love challenges:)
