Que habilidades tienes?
I have a diverse set of skills developed through study, work, and other life experiences. These primarily include:
- Creative skills: Drawing, painting, film, photography, design, illustration, video editing, etc. My artistic background comes from graduating high school with an arts degree :)
- Practical skills: Organising, gardening, cleaning, baking, etc. I grew up on a farm and later became active in several community groups during my bachelor's, often taking on a facilitating role. I've also held a variety of jobs, with the most relevant being in cleaning and kitchen work, particularly in a bakery, as well as more physically demanding roles such as factory work.
- Academic skills: Research, writing, teaching, communication, public speaking, problem-solving, etc. Studying politics and philosophy at a university deeply rooted in the academic tradition gave me a solid foundation in research methods.Edad

A couple of experiences that are close to my heart, and relevant to this platform, are two exchange programmes I attended during my bachelor's: one in Hong Kong and one in East Africa. Both taught me a lot about cultural exchange, life in totally different places, and the value of familiarising oneself with all the world has to offer, among many other things.
My East Africa programme, currently coming to a close, brought me across Kenya and Tanzania for two months. We studied anthropology, African studies, and critical development through direct experiences. Our aim was to understand how the continent, and the very idea of Africa, is positioned in today's world by engaging with the histories, communities, and systems that shape it. This involves immersive learning by involved ourselves deeply with life in Nairobi slums through a homestay, visiting diverse organisations that are responsible for Kenya's and Tanzania's vitality (such as flower farms, scientific facilities, embassies, etc.), understanding the role of indigenous communities by living with the Maasai, understanding the complex composition of rural households through another homestay, partaking in the bustling fishing markets essential for the many economies by the coast, and much more. In the context of Workaway, what the programme truly taught me is the nuance of cultural mindfulness, understanding that when I find myself in a place, it is deeply rooted in historical and cultural influences, and my presence requires the reflective capacity to treat this new environment with respect and not impose any external standards out of ignorance or arrogance.
The programme concluded with a one-month internship, during which I worked as a researcher at a hospital in Nairobi. The general aim was to improve the lives of caregivers and children in the slums, particularly those affected by sickle cell disease. As part of the role, I occasionally joined research sessions and health education classes for primary schools in these communities. With the internship now coming to an end and my flight back to Europe scheduled for late August, I've registered on Workaway to continue what I set out to do at the beginning of this summer: to deepen my understanding of the places I find myself in, and to engage with them as meaningfully and mindfully as I can. I hope to learn from my environment and respectfully contribute where I'm able to, so I can leave something positive behind in return.Más información
