Helloo, my fellow workawayers 😁, I've been a couchsurfer for about 7 years now (https://couchsurfing.page.link/UdmnQirpVTo947S76) and met other travelers and hosts using workaway before. I'm currently moving into a new phase in life where I just want to take some time off work, longer than my usual vacations. My career as a researcher in nanotechnology (https://www.linkedin.com/in/oyibo-gideon-a6a210b1), although fulfilling at the beginning was beginning to feel more like a prison for about some time now, about a year. I'm looking to just go out into the country, serve and just fellowship with people however I can, without the stress and demands that come with a corporate job. I have a background in solar energy for people who live off grid and/or are setting up their own solar. I installed solar panels in Nigeria before moving to the US and I made the first all-carbon nanotube solar cell for my PhD if you care about that stuff 😏.
I'm super passionate about the outdoors, nature and mountains. Ohhh I love spending time in the mountains. I enjoy hiking and I've climbed about 20 fourteeners in the Colorado Rockies, maybe more, I'm not a peak bagger, I just do it for the fun of it; over half of the high peaks in the white mountains and Catskills, a couple more in the Adirondacks, and a few more scattered over the country (Nevada, SoCal, etc.). I've not posted anything really recent because I've been focusing on enjoying the beauty of nature for myself and not for social media 😅. I do have a million pictures and photo albums I can share of my adventures across the country if you're interested. Always happy to share 😊.
I'm also a musician, part of a reggae band and also play in church. I play the piano and bass guitar and more than willing to share some music with fellow musicians or even teach people interested. I have added screenshots of the references from my couchsurfing profile and always more than happy to hop on a call or even share more references from others if needed. I'm a fun, honest and open book 😊.

I'm not a programmer but, more than happy to help figure out tech related issues.
I also play the piano and bass guitar.
I do take care of indoor plants and very happy to help with gardening also.
Beyond this, I'm also looking forward to the opportunity to gain and learn new skills. 🙂
I also enjoy cooking and playing around with different recipes so if needed, I'm more than happy to help out in the kitchen. Show me your favorite recipe and I'll be more than happy to help out with dinner 😁.
