Journalist with environment and news background. Maintain a tree-packed garden surrounding my home, which I have attempted to keep on a green track with solar thermal and wood pellet heating. I have volunteered in the UK with Conservation Volunteers and Crisis, and abroad, in Barbados (turtles), in Malawi (hospital decorations); paddled along the US eastern seaboard in guided canoes, spied on wild bears in Finland and explored Vietnam. No special skills beyond some DIY daring-do and much rampant curiosity.
