Hello! My name is Christine (she/her) and I am from Toronto, Canada! Growing up in a city, I spent as much time outdoors in nature as possible, whether it was at summer camp or taking my dog for a walk along the river, I am my best self when I am outdoors. My favourite activities are on the water, specifically canoeing and kayaking.

I love meeting new people and listening to their life stories. I've always been inspired to try new activities or challenge myself when I talk to others. In my spare time, I play the ukulele and pick up various DIY art projects to keep busy. I also spend time outdoors hiking, long boarding, or camping.

I've spent 3 months travelling Central America and 6 months throughout South East Asia, so i absolutely love travelling and meeting people!. I am passionate about sustainability and am looking for a workaway that will help me develop new practical skills, such as: sustainable practices, carpentry, foraging, cultural knowledge, animal care, and plant medicine!

Teaching:
I am an avid outdoor individual with years of experience teaching youth kayaking & canoeing.

Non-Profit & Volunteering:
I volunteered and managed a local food bank in my neighbourhood. I have also coordinated and done community outreach for various garbage clean-ups in the neighbourhood with the local community organization and friends. I am a volunteer member of the Young Canadian Roundtable on Health, a non-profit group that advocates for youth health.

Farming/Gardening:
I had the opportunity to visit a Homestead Workaway in British Columbia, Canada in which I learned how to take care of farm animals, maintain a garden, and do maintenance around the property.

Hospitality:
I have 6 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with 3 years of waitressing experience. I love working in restaurants because of how many people you meet and how up-beat and fast paced it is.

Languages:
I grew up with a francophone parent so I am capable of communicating in basic French conversations, and am fluent in English.

Maintenance:
I am not advanced but have completed my fair share of DIY and small renovation projects at home or on the Farm that I feel able to work on projects alone and can pick up on the requirements quickly.

My interests span far and wide as I always love to learn new things! Currently, my interests include: yoga, hiking, camping, surfing, long boarding, DIY projects, animal care projects, ukulele, guitar, cribbage, & sustainability, however, I am open to anything!

I love playing card games!

Music and dancing bring me so much joy! I would love for someone to teach me some guitar as I'm still a beginner. I would love to learn more about using natural food to heal the body of ailments.

I am very easy-going and have a calm disposition.
