Meet Chloé and Tomás—a cheerful, curious, and adventurous duo excited to share meaningful experiences with others.

About Chloé:
Bright, bubbly, and full of positive energy, Chloé (27) hails from Yorkshire, England. She thrives on connection—whether it’s a smile shared with a stranger or a deep, meaningful conversation. Her passions include exploring nature, swimming, cycling, badminton, reading books focused on spiritual growth and discovering new cuisines.

Creative and caring by nature, she loves group dynamics and also appreciates solo time for reflection. Fun fact: Chloé is self-taught in stick-and-poke tattooing! A spark for travel was ignited at a young age when an early adventure at 5 years old to meet her Mauritian roots opened her heart to the beauty of the world and its people.

About Tomás (or Tommy):
Originally from Northern Ireland, Tomás (26) brings a laid-back, thoughtful energy wherever he goes. His interests include personal growth, meditation, and team sports like Gaelic football, basketball, and chess—skills he’s happy to share with others.

Tomás has hands-on experience in construction and earthwork and is known for his practicality, caring nature, and subtle sense of humor. Though he may seem quiet at first, he’s quick to crack jokes and build connections. As Chloé’s mother likes to say, “If he were any more relaxed, he’d fall off his chair!”

About Us as a Team:
We’re passionate about Workaway because it combines everything we love: cultural exchange, skill-sharing, and making meaningful connections. Our positive attitudes and willingness to learn make us reliable, helpful, and adaptable in any situation.

Recently, we embraced a fresh chapter in life—leaving our jobs, giving up our flat, and donating most of our possessions—to fully commit to this journey of exploration and contribution.

Additional Skills:
Chloé has three years of experience in digital marketing, which, while not her passion, is a valuable skill she’s happy to offer. Tomás brings practical expertise in construction, teamwork, and coaching. Together, we’re eager to lend our hands and hearts wherever needed.

Chloé is interested in developing her French, however is very open and keen to explore other languages. These skills would help break down language barriers and help her further connect with people, as well as show appreciation for the language itself. Tommy learnt some Spanish whilst working the Camino in Spain and would like to continue to pursue this language. As above however, he is open to picking up new languages where possible! :) Both Chloe and Tommy are training in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, so are very keen to teach English to help people/students who are open to/want to learn.

Chloe:
Chloé brings a dynamic mix of skills and experiences, making her an asset in a variety of roles.

Her educational background in Education Studies (with classroom teaching experience) plus ongoing TEFL qualification reflect her passion for connecting with and supporting children across different cultures.

Her professional journey spans a range of customer-focused roles. From managing client relationships at a Digital Marketing agency—where she gained expertise in social media, SEO, PPC, email marketing, and web development—to caring for a severely disabled lady, Chloé’s ability to adapt and provide exceptional service shines through.

On the practical side, she’s worked on a functioning farm, helped run accommodation and the kitchen at large-scale festivals (pitched 150+ tents and fed 90+ bellys!), and pursued a Master's degree in Events Management, which deepened her understanding of creating immersive spaces. She excels in conflict resolution, keeping clients happy, and finding creative solutions to challenges.

Excitingly, Chloe is also trained in Qigong 5-Elements and playing crystal sounds bowls, something which she is keen to offer.

Chloé’s creative streak supports professional problem-solving; as well as her hobbies in painting, tattooing, decorating. She enjoys writing, gardening, baking, and cooking. She’s also a natural listener, known for her empathy, non-judgmental attitude, and ability to offer thoughtful advice and support.

From her hands-on farming and hospitality experience to her innovative, quick thinking and marketing knowledge, Chloé is ready to lend her diverse talents to any Workaway opportunity, bringing positivity, hard work, and a can-do spirit to every task.

Tommy:

Tommy combines hands-on experience, a practical mindset, and a passion for personal and community development, making him a reliable and adaptable contributor to any Workaway opportunity.

As a former Site Manager for a national building and landscaping firm, Tomás gained expertise in project management, man-management, health and safety, client relations, and plant operation. His main focus was ensuring projects ran safely, efficiently, and on schedule while keeping all stakeholders informed.

Beyond his professional career, Tomás has knowledge of the body thanks to his background in Physiotherapy and Sport & Exercise Science. He’s trained in providing massages and has enjoyed teaching movement-based skills and coaching—perfect for working with children or anyone seeking to improve their mobility and well-being.

A Scout as a young chap, he’s well-versed in camping, survival skills, teamwork, and respecting nature, which he complements with his love for volunteering. From youth group leadership to coaching local football and basketball teams, fundraising for various charities, and working with community projects in Northern Ireland, Tommy brings a strong sense of purpose and a heart for service.

Physically capable and practical, Tommy is no stranger to demanding jobs in all kinds of weather. He’s worked as a greyhound kennel boy, which fostered his love for animals. He even took up horse riding in his spare time in his earlier years.

Known for his great attitude, patience, and ability to adapt, Tomás is an excellent communicator, even with non-English speakers, and brings humour and positivity to every environment. While he may not be a singer or dancer, he’s always willing to join in, adding a touch of fun and enthusiasm to group activities.

With an open mind, eagerness to learn, and a strong work ethic, Tommy is ready to take on any challenge while contributing meaningfully to hosts and communities around the world.

Chloé
Chloé has recently discovered a love for painting through local classes and enjoys exploring her creative side. While she may not be Mariah Carey, she loves singing in groups and seeks out community-based experiences whenever possible. Chloe has taken a particular interest in playing crystal sound bowls whilst singing. Always drawn to nature, she’s passionate about wild swimming, forest walks, and cooking, She finds joy in bringing ideas to life and inspiring people with her enthusiasm. With a keen interest in DIY projects, she’s excited to learn more and take on hands-on tasks.

Tomás (Tommy)
A skilled chess player who has represented Yorkshire in competitions, Tommy brings strategic thinking and a love of learning to the table. He enjoys writing poetry, reading, hiking, and building meaningful connections. With a focus on spreading positivity and encouraging growth in others, Tommy is always ready to inspire and be inspired by the people he meets.
