Hi!
Growing up my family managed cabins and campground where travelers and families would come and for vacation and family reunions. This started a passion for my love for the outdoors, travel, and working with people. With time this evolved into a passion for food, social justice and environmental sustainability. I worked in Bolivia in charge of a composting toilet program for two years, and in addition to learning Spanish I gave youth and adult classes about hygiene and sanitation and how to use the latrines as a bathroom and source of compost for a garden or yard. For the past six years I have managed two different vegetable farms. I enjoy growing, cooking, and preserving these foods as pickles, jams, and ferments. I have extensive knowledge about vegetable farming, and some knowledge about animal husbandry and perennial care. I was also able to work one summer at a kids camp focusing on outdoor and farm education. I love cooking and sharing food with others, and sharing dishes that I have learned through the years. I also love many outdoor sports including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and more, and I recently found a passion for latin dance. I currently live in Italy, a dream since getting my Italian citizenship three years ago, and am improving my Italian as well. I hope to share my passions and knowledge as a workawayer and hope to gain more skills along the way!

I had an amazing time with Alper and his family! As it was still winter I did a lot of preparing the land and helping around the property. I loved the breakfasts shared with the family and my time to be able to relax, enjoying the wood fired stove, and walking around. Thanks for everything!

I spent an amazing month with this family and was able to participate in all parts of the farm- planting, weeding, harvesting, market, and leaned a ton with the whole family! I had a great time hanging with the kids and cooking and sharing meals at the beautiful outdoor long wooden table. Thanks again for everything!
