We are Flo (33) and Angela (33) with our two kids Helena (4) and Linus (2). This summer we would like to use some of our free time to gather a workaway experience as a family. Before we had kids we were travelling a lot, doing some work and travel in Canada, Australia, couchsurfing in several countrys and some workaway. However we have always prefered not being "just a tourist", but experiencing a country while living with the locals and getting to know their culture and way of life. We are very open minded persons and like to get to know new people and learn about new things. As a family we like spending time outside, doing sports like hiking, riding bikes, swimming, Angela does horseback riding and Flo plays the guitar, so also music is part of our lifes. What we also enjoy is cooking and baking (the kids are doing a great job helping) and we are always happy to get to know or try new things.

Que habilidades tienes?

Angela:
I wouldn't consider myself to have any "special" skills, but I would say I am a person who learns really fast and is in general openminded and interested in experiencing different cultures and way of lifes. After high school I took a gap year abroad to be an aupair as I love playing with children and I would consider myself as trustworthy and reliable. I am also comfortable working with animals. I've been riding horses for several years and always enjoyed spending time in the nature/countryside. In November 2017 I gained my first experience as a workawayer. I was staying on an ecological farm in southern Spain and helping with weeding, planting and harvesting vegetables. In December 2017 I joined a single mum on hawaii, helping her with the household, gardening and looking after her 5 year old son.
In April 2018 I had a workaway experience in South Africa. There I joined a family with two kids. They had a small farm and some horses. So I mainly helped out around the house, with the kids and the horses. My last workaway was in Mexico. I stayed for one week with a family and helped within their project, which included building skills, painting, recycling.

Flo:
I travel since I am about 16 years old. I stayed abroad for longer in France during high school and Canada after high school.
The experiences I’ve made were incredible and I enjoyed staying in one place for longer and getting to know people better.
I learned English and French, built a little wooden patio to a friend’s house in the Canadian Rockies and helped out with basic work (e.g. mowing the lawn, cooking, cleaning, doing fire wood) around the house whenever and wherever needed.
As a little boy I learned playing guitar. I barely play now in lack of time and opportunities but I could possibly hand on basics in guitar playing or if you know how to play I would always love to jam together.
I am happy to learn new things: skills for work in and around the house, songs on the guitar, languages, dishes and many more and I am evenly happy to share whatever I can.

We try to include the kids as good as possible in the daily chores and they both love to help around the house and get to shown things.

We are really thankful and happy for the workaway experience, getting to know new people and exchanging stories, lifestyles, and cultures. We consider this can not only be valuable for our lifes but is also contributing to a better understanding within the world. We hope to pass this also to our kids while experiencing workaway as a family.
