Hi there! I'm a Canadian environmentalist with a deep love of plants. I find happiness in nature, in learning more about the world around me through plants, people, and permaculture. I love getting my hands dirty in the soil; planting, weeding and harvesting, I love it all! I have really enjoyed getting to know the native flora and Fauna of New Zealand and am always keen to learn more.
I enjoy being artistic and finding creative ways to reclaim forgotten or forlorn material into something beautiful and thought provoking. I love painting and have made beautiful signs and artwork for hosts in the past.
I am very interested in natural building techniques that work with British Columbia climate, my next dream project is building a cob and pallet studio in the Nicola Valley.
I am an Introvert and can be quite shy when first meeting new people, but after a few days I get more comfortable. I enjoy friendly talkative people and great conversations. Just don't be alarmed if I'm awkward at first :)Intereses

I have been a gardener and small-scale farmer for 5 years, and really enjoy working in gardens, and growing and harvesting food.
I spent the last 8 months working on a microgreen farm in an intentional community where I learned the ins-and-outs of growing nutritional sprouts, as well as growing and caring for the summer crops of basil, squash and tomato.
I am really interested in medicinal plants and wildcrafting and have been expanding my knowledge of Canadian plants for 10 years. I would love to learn more about plants and medicines in other climates/hemispheres.
I also have a level 1 early childhood education certification and would be happy to explore some outdoor/forest school focused child care, if it is in alignment.
*I don't mind physical work, but I've come to realize that shoveling is especially hard on an old shoulder injury of mine, so it's not my favorite task.*Edad

I am travelling to New Zealand for at least a year on a work visa, and am looking to learn more about permaculture, homesteading, gardening, farming, you name it!
I have lived in intentional communities before where emotional intelligence was at the forefront and am looking forward to continuing that work in my life with the people that I meet along my travels.
I have a lot of artistic hobbies as well, I love embroidery (making patches), painting, upcycled art and sculpture.
I also love playing chess, and will likely be travelling with a board. I love connecting with people around a great game!
((I've also been doing workaway for a few years, in France and the west coast of USA, with a former partner. I'm not sure if you can search for profiles but MnAWorkaway was our account, if you wanted to look at references from former hosts :) ))Más información
