Hello! Our names are Adam and Erin, and we are 23 and 21 years old respectively. We were recently living in Maastricht, Netherlands while Erin completed a semester abroad, and we are now backpacking.

We are new to the Workaway community (1 month workaway done, many more to go), and we love the ideology behind smart and sustainable travel :) We strive to be kind, compassionate, and adventurous!

We have both travelled throughout our childhoods, and since we started dating we have spent nearly half the time away from home travelling the world together.
In July 2023, we moved from Australia to the Netherlands where we lived until the end of 2023. From then, we have six months planned backpacking across Europe.

We are planning on going to the Scandinavian countries, the Balkans, and the Iberian Peninsula (among others!).
We would love to experience the local life while travelling, which is why we think Workaway is for us! We are not afraid to get our hands dirty, we love trying new things, and we look forward to meeting you and sharing life stories!

We've had a long-standing interest in language learning. From an early age, we've both had exposure to the French language, and while travelling we enjoy learning the local language(s). We have experience tutoring. Erin spent 5 weeks living in France as part of a language exchange program; speaking French exclusively for this period.

Que habilidades tienes?

Adam:
My skill set is wide and varied. My work experience includes over 18 roles across 16 different industries. I am adept with computers, hospitality, and administration. I specialise in accounting and bookkeeping, vinification, and foreign currency exchange (among many other niche skills).
I am also very broadly capable, as I have a strong history of hands-on DIY. From 9 years of involvement in the Scouting movement, to various different projects such as levelling roads, building a guardhouse, creating drainage solutions, restoration works throughout a school in Nepal, and carpentry.
Erin:
I have always been very passionate about human rights, specifically education. As a result, I am currently studying Law and Human Rights at home in Australia. I have also been tutoring English and Maths since 2019 and really love sharing my knowledge with others. As part of tutoring, I have had some experience in marketing, as well as working with kids. I am taking time off to pursue travel and hope to continue sharing my knowledge along the way, as well as learning from others!
I have also worked in various hospitality and retail roles, as well as a paralegal in a community legal centre for refugees and asylum seekers.
At home, I have a dog (Charlie) and 2 cats (Brooklyn and Tapis), who I miss very much. I would really love to work with animals at some point as well!

Hiking, swimming, surfing, reading, writing, snacking, beaching, card/board gaming, cooking, driving, music, and most importantly, learning! We were both Scouts for many years (camping, hiking, basic construction, basic first aid etc.), we are both well travelled (34 and 38 countries visited respectively), and we love to meet new people and learn about different ways of life! We are keen to meet you :)
