I spend as much time as I can outdoors; all seasons, all weather. I love the strain of hiking for days with 30lbs on my back and the joy / relief of reaching the peak / goal. Animals and I tend to gravitate towards each other, though I do not have any ranch working experience. However, I am not afraid of hard manual labour and, these days, never back down from a challenge.

**I have 10 years of professional kitchen experience and enjoy opportunities to exchange cooking responsibilities and recipes. (I am on the hunt for a cherry or blackberry pie right now.

I have Hungarian heritage, so anyone who is willing to teach me any German, Hungarian, or other languages spoken by Shengen countries would be a dream.

Note:
I am a smoker, but I have a good handle on it and have alternatives to cigarettes and vaping if required.

Almost 10 years of professional kitchen experience. I started a massive vegetable garden about 15 years ago at my family property and have been maintaining it ever since. I rotate between gourds and zucchinis one year, variety potatoes and beets the next... with lettuces, kale, spinach, tomatoes, sweet peppers, etc all the time.

I have lots of Audio/Visual technical ability and like solving computer-related problems. At one time I had a low-voltage wiring ticket and would be more than happy to help out in a construction / maintenance project any time.

I do not have a lot of experience with animals that are not household pets, but I really do love them all. I once communed with a flock of "guard-geese" near a construction project I was working at in Haida Gwaii and they became my best friends for the entire 6 months. ... I don't know what that says about me.

Adam was possibly the best volunteer we have had for while ....he listened, learnt and experienced our farm and became part of our family life.

He was flexable and took on unknown tasks to him and was prepared to get out of his comfort zone .

I stayed with Jenny and Geoff for about two weeks at their idyllic farmhouse in the hills a short drive from Borgo di Mozzanno. This was the experience I had been seeking for years, and more!

As it was winter moving into spring, pruning (and collecting the clippings) of plentiful olive orchards, walnut trees, fig trees, and many more were a priority, as well as weeding, aerating, and starting to seed a huge area of terraced vegetable and herb gardens - as a chef back home, this really brought to life the farm-to-table concept, as opposed to my usual experience of suppliers’ delivery.
From day 1, my mornings were busy with a plethora of tasks, (perfect for someone who needs constant time not in my own head) some could be self-organized, while others (like cleaning pens, rebuilding coops, etc…) required supervision until the result was just right. However, there is certainly an allowance for free afternoons to explore and experience the scenery.
A lot of the tools used and tasks performed were new to me, but teaching me to utilize them was no problem at all. Collecting eggs for breakfast, and Jenny’s famous tortas and omelettes was most certainly a highlight.
My biggest takeaway was don’t be afraid to ask plentiful questions, as Jenny and Geoff are extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to share every ounce of it. Their understanding of the local transit and train system is undeniable, along with many local trekking / hiking trails, and the rich history dating back over a millennia.
They welcomed me into their home like a family would, and so the expectations were just so… helping with cooking and/or washing up and tidying is very appreciated.
Introducing me to the locals was another highlight, who reminded me of my extended family.

I would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat, and highly highly recommend this Workaway experience to anyone, experienced or not so much, who is looking to escape city life (like myself), and willing to put in sweat equity.
Absolutely no negatives, but important to note that while wifi access is readily available throughout their multiple properties / work areas, cell service is spotty. But off the grid was what I was seeking, so all the better in my opinion.
