    To whom it may concern:

We would like to offer you an exciting and educational experience with horses. An opportunity to be around horses all day, learning many different aspects about these amazing creatures, connecting with them and understanding their language. We would like to help take your horsemanship to a new level. Stable provides you with a fun and friendly atmosphere to accomplish just that.

We, at the stable don't just offer the generic workaway program, where you work your required hours to cover your living costs. We provide a student program that gives you the opportunity to become a better horseman or horsewoman. The 4-5 hours of daily work experience that you will receive, are filled with tasks such as; feeding and watering horses, mucking out stalls, grooming and assisting with projects around the ranch. During the rest of the day, we encourage you to advance your horsemanship skills. You will get the chance to work with multiple different horses on multiple different levels. Being engaged, determined and willing to learn will be the keys to your success in our program.

Outside of the work program we offer many different levels of riding lessons to suit any riders ability. We are happy to answer any questions you might have regarding lesson levels, scheduling and costs. For those riders that may qualify, the opportunity to be a part of our teaching program is available. This is an excellent way for you to gain experience coaching youth beginner riders and share your personal knowledge of horsemanship.

At McKendrick Stables we train a variety of horse breeds in different disciplines. We start young horses which have never been touched, all the way to advanced horses in disciplines such as; western pleasure, barrel racing, reining, roping, jumping, dressage and eventing.

We encourage you to come and join our team. Regardless of our busy schedule, at McKendrick Stables there is never a dull moment. We have lots of fun with our many boarders because are all like one big family.

We are looking for any candidates who would like to spend their time around the barn and ranch, not afraid of getting their hands dirty and would like to become a better horsewoman/man. Horse experience is not necessary if you prefer a position maintaining the facility and overall ranch. A minimum stay of two months is strongly recommended. Accommodations are provided on the property.

Look forward to hearing from you.
All the best for your travels,

    -McKendrick Stable

    Review:
This is a review from Lene, one of our amazing participants in our program. She spent quite a few months with us, but does not have workaway, as she came to us through the recommendation of her friend:

Second Home. I think that describes pretty good what I feel about McKendrick Stable.
This place is one of the most magical ones on earth. Even now that I am travelling, my favourite part of my Canada trip will never be the Rocky Mountains, Vancouver Island or a stunning turquoise lake or river. It will always be this place. And I will carry it in my heart forever. The people I‘ve met there and how much I learned spinned my life 360°! I learned not just about horsemanship but about life in general and what kind of person I want to be! Meggi and Alicia are so inspiring and the strongest women I‘ve ever met.
First I just wanted to stay 4 Months and ended up staying 6! And I swear not just once I was thinking about giving up my German life and moving to Canada because of them!
It is crazy what those two can do with horses. How they can connect and bond with them. Understand each horse and give them their time!
And besides Meggi and Alicia there are other amazing and incredible people! The barn family has such a strong connection and they accept you just the way you are! They are always there for you!

I loved the responsibility’s I got here and the work was always fun!
And besides, that especially on the weekends we always did something crazy!
We rode in Western clothes with a moustache and water pistols to the saloon; skijoring, wakeboarding and sledding behind horses and/ or side-by-side; christmastree-hunt with the horses at christmastime and a lot more!

I will never forget this place and I will try to come back every year.

I can highly recommend this place for every person who loves horses.
I have no doubts that you will have a fantastic and unforgettable time here.

Thank you Meggi, Thank you Alicia! You changed my life to the good! You are amazing! I love you so much!
