We welcome longer-term volunteers to assist with our non-profit horse rescue on the island of Oahu. We prefer longer-term (2 months or more) volunteer commitments because of the relationships with the horses and other animals. We have been blessed to host approximately 290 wonderful volunteers from around the world and look forward to meeting you!

Volunteers have enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, learning scuba, and all ocean sports. We often go to the beach with ukuleles, guitars, songs and stories to share the evening sunset. Kaena Point is a nearby hike through a wildlife sanctuary. Dolphins are spotted daily near the house and whales are in season December through April. There are many hikes along the ocean or in the mountains for all abilities. The Polynesian Cultural Center on the North Shore teaches about Pacific island cultures. The tourist center of Waikiki is a 90 minute bus ride away, UBER is popular transportation on Oahu and we are happy to provide a ride into Honolulu when we occasionally go into town. We like in Makaha, "the real Hawaii" and are respectful of nature and culture preservation.
