  My name is Janna and I have helped start a foundation that has planted 155 Coconut Palm trees in our beach and on some of the town streets. We want to plant 500 more this year & have an event once a month during surf season (Jan-April) with the locals to beautify different areas in town that you will help prep for each month. I also have projects around the house, that can include making vegan food, basic house maintenance, and taking care of animals. If you are a decent photographer or good with promo we can use some help with promotions too.

  You will directly be working with the residents and locals of the town building on a new project. Spanish is helpful and you will be able to practice talking directly to locals if you can speak Spanish a bit already. Our town of Canoa is a great place to learn to surf or develop as a better surfer. You will learn how to organize events in South America, planting coconut palm trees, and enjoy our beach town. You will also have some free meals at different restaurants to use up while you are with us and 3 free yoga classes!

  We are looking for week-long volunteers to help a once a month, the week before our "First Sat of each month event" where we plant, clean, and educate people in different areas of our town of Canoa. Duties include planting palm trees and other plants, cleaning up the beach, and painting signs with some children. We also need people who can help on social media and put together promo materials for education and support. We are a newly formed not for profit group that are trying to safe-guard a tropical feel in our coastal town as well as develop an educated and eco-community! Join us!

  You will be given a dorm room volunteer bed at the newly renovated hotel in Canoa. Feel free to check out their website at It is a nice place to stay with kitchen usage, hot water, wifi, and good atmosphere, right on the beach. We are also offering 7 free meals a week at different restaurants in town that have donated to our program meals for you! Yoga classes have also been donated to your stay, 3 times a week. We hope that you will feel like the whole town is supporting you and you supporting the whole town.

  Lots of fun to be had in Canoa, it is for sure a great place to take surf classes, stand up paddle board, hike to the caves, hike to Rio Canoa farms and brewery, visit the market in San Vicente or Bahia, go horseback, play on the banana boat, or dance your night away!
