For all animal lovers, cats in particular, discover my cat shelter project in Colombia. Refugee is in Palomino, a small village on the Colombian Caribbean coast.
Feline leukemia is a viral disease, one of the most serious diseases a cat can contract. The life expectancy of a sick cat is only 1 to 3 years. And it only affects cats and can also be hereditary. However, there is a vaccine that would eradicate this evil virus. In recent years I have experienced the death of three of my cats (Pat Blanche, Alen, Gudu), who were dear to me! Each time, I felt a part of me that was flying away ... It was moments of great sadness. This disease is devastating, especially in Palomino and the region. Here as everywhere, many stray cats are left to their own devices, without vaccines, without sterilization and this situation must change.
Therefore, this cat shelter project in Palomino was naturally born. It is imperative to inform and sensitize the population, to test cats, to vaccinate them. We need to treat as many cats as possible and find them loving families who will communicate their love to them. You know, I insist, that each cat has its own personality, but in his enigmatic gaze hides an adorable being who needs special conditions to make him happy.
A friend allows us to build the refuge on part of her land in Palomino and it is in this regard that I appeal to your generosity and your solidarity. We would have at our disposal a space of about 200 square meters on which we could make a closed construction with a care space, a reception and office space, then a resting place for cats and on the outside, a large open garden.
As a French business woman, I already manage 2 business in the village and wish to make this refuge a financially viable project in the long term. This is why I have already thought of different means of financing the project on a daily basis (vaccines, food, care) such as:
• Partnerships with businesses
• Regular awareness campaigns
• An approach with regional veterinary clinic
• Charity evenings / concerts / shows
So, this is a complete and thoughtful project that I present to you. I am counting on each of you to help me. You will not be disappointed.

This village which is beginning to develop as a tourist attraction is the perfect place to relax, recharge your batteries in the middle of nature and is also a perfect spot for surfing lovers.

We really had a wonderful experience. Communication was excellent, the appartement we stayed was very confortable and right in the center of town.
We all enjoyed taking care of the cats. Thank you Ophelie for the great time we spent there.
