Family of 4 including two teenagers (18 and 19) living on Waiheke. We also have 4 cats who rule the house, including demanding access to every room so if you don’t like cats or are allergic, this probably isn’t right for you. Our daughter speaks French though has just moved to Wellington to attend university so will only be home at holiday times. Our son commutes to the city to study physiotherapy. I work in the city too so week days, it’s mostly my husband and the cats at home. Our house is spacious and near the beach. We built 5 years ago but some parts are still unfinished and the native garden somewhat unruly. We love to cook.

We have movie nights most Saturday nights and love to walk, play board games and cards and swim at the beach. We’re not really drinkers, but love food.

Given our passion for food, we will help you to understand NZ culture through food, providing traditional meals. We also speak limited Te Reo if you are interested in learning some of our indigenous language. Our garden is entirely native so you can learn about NZ plants plus it’s full of native birds from the noisy Tui and Kaka to the gentle Kereru and cheeky Piwakawaka.

    Ayuda

Help mostly with gardening and weeding plus general help around the house (maybe a bit of cleaning and even some painting if you’re into it). We all pitch in but mostly Matt who also works from home.

    Alojamiento

One large double room with own toilet and shower. Could put in an extra bed if not a couple. Clean and modern.

We will feed you! Breakfast and lunch will mostly be help yourself, and we will cook dinners for you. You are welcome to be the kitchen helping if that interests you. We can accommodate vegetarians but would struggle if you are vegan because we love cheese! We eat together.

    Algo más...

No smokers. Google Waiheke Island if you want to see where we are. Lots of social activities on the island plus beautiful walks and beaches to discover. Think about anything you would like to do and let us know. We are generally pretty quiet. 35 minute ferry ride to Auckland CBD. It is expensive to get to and from Waiheke though.
