AT THE MOMENT.....we are looking for potential early spring /summer workawayers but if you are in need of a change we can consider offers before then ....just ask.
FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS we are welcome a couple for a long term stay in our private gite....all the luxury of a whole house with a private terrace....including bbq.
We are a retired couple with two houses on opposite sides of the large garden
The 'gite' (spring /summer use only) has 2 double bedrooms (see photos) , upstairs and downstairs toilet, and shower, ENGLISH SATELLITE TV, DVD and lovely walled, quiet, private courtyard.
A separate apartment (with a fantastic view over the valley) has 2 double bedrooms one ensuite.
We keep lots of varieties of birds, ducks , chickens and pheasants and caring for them would be a priority....mainly letting them out in the morning.
You can see a YouTube video of the birds 'Stephanie and Henry January 2019' by Fernando Lorenza.
I speak French but a fairly good knowledge of English is necessary as to avoid confusion!
We are sociable but as we are both getting older, we tire easily....so, although we see you every day to talk we are not able to socialise much! We sometimes have an apero in the evening. We love meeting workawayers to hear about their travels (as we never go anywhere).
You do your own cooking and give us a shopping list. (If single, I can cook you an evening meal and will provide food for your breakfast and lunch)
The house is stocked with basic foodstuffs and household products. The appartment has a little kitchenette.
We buy basic healthy food for all diets.
You buy your own alcohol if you drink but we give some beer or wine at the weekends.
It's very peaceful in our small hamlet. There are French, English, Dutch and even a Brazilian (ex workawayer) living here though so we are quite cosmopolitan!
Also. there is the BUDDHIST MONASTERY at Les Bosnages just around the corner (10 minute walk)
The views from our property are beautiful (see photos)This is perfect cycling country (The Tour de France passes through every few years).
The hamlet and buildings were built using Roman/medieval stones and roads (this is an established archaeological area dating back over millenia)
We have the wonderful Crane migration spectacle here in March and October.
We can give lifts to local sites or to public transport for the city.
Non-smokers only please.
We can pick you up if you travel from Paris on the TGV (Gare Montparnasse) to Poitiers then train to Bellac. Paris direct from GARE AUSTERLITZ to LA SOUTERRAINE. or Bellac, or if necessary Limoges or Limoges airport. There are regular trains from Bordeaux via Poitiers as well.
Then there is the OUIBUS from Toulouse and other places in France.

The late Fred Yates the painter had a home here...a prolific painter. We are known for our exhibitions 'Artists of the Gartempe and have three art galleries in our tiny village alone.
