Dee, Rob and a bright toddler, are a family offering accommodation and board in our rural family home in the heart of Gippsland in exchange for some support for a stay at home dad, Rob.
Our house is a colonial building set amongst dairy and veggie farms.
Dee works in bushfire emergency management and volunteers with the local fire brigade and the local historic renovated Boisdale Stables. Rob has casual work in a theatre and is a musician but he is mostly looking after our daughter who will be starting kindergarten in March 4 days week when she turns 3.
We love cooking fresh and healthy foods, camping and exploring the area we live in. Rob loves experimenting with cooking meat, and we annually hold a meat fest cooking competition with our friends on labour day (in March).
We have a very kind and well trained Kelpie dog and a patient tabby/ragdoll cat.

Dee and Rob regularly connect with local friends and family, who are referred to as 'the tribe'. The tribe is a mix of people of all ages and interests, and in addition to coming together for social events, we support and help each other out.
Tribe events taking place in March 2027 include:
'Meat Fest' - contributors spend the day cooking meat in different ways, including some traditional bush tucker and Maori dishes.
You can join us on regular group camping trips with families, with a mix of all ages attending. These camps are usualy drive in, with confortable sleeping in swags & camper trailers and we come together over meals and have respectful interaction at Victoria's High Country's remote outdoor free camping sites on Crown land and National parks. Some of the tribe have the ability to do hike and camp in more remote areas, and we have equipment we can loan you if you wish to do this. Due to work and childcare we rarely get the chance to do those these days - but we highly reccommend them if you are fit and well and enjoy sleeping under the stars.

Rob is a musician. He performs in a three piece band, writes his own music, and hosts Karaoke events every Friday night in a nearby town. Rob plays all sorts of instruments, so if you are into music or keen to learn something - just ask!

Rob & Dee have excelent local knowledge of local public land and national parks and waterways for camping and fishing. Plus Rob has a boat he is working on restoring.

When Dee isn't managing fires in the state, she likes to stay fit through yoga, hiking, running and walking. There is a Thai-Chi class every Wednesday at the local town hall for a small fee and Dee has connections to personal fitness instructors who specialise in kickboxing and general physical fitness.

Dee is also a member of the historical stable's, which is owned and maintained by the community and a training officer at the local volunteer fire brigade.

Rob and Dee love to learn about other cultures, try new food and learn new ways of doing things.

As Rob does not currently drive and Dee could be busy with emergencies, we are seeking some support to help with pick up and drop off's for our daughter attending kindergarten, especially in March and April 2027. Rob will still be primary carer, so this would only be a requirement to drive our reliable family car with Rob and the little one together. Driving Rob for these primary purposes is our minimum requirement. No childcare is expected, however if you are a nanny or au pair and have references, working with chidlren checks and police checks etc, we would be happy to discuss how you could help in this way.

While kinder is running (9am to 3pm , 4 days a week) your days are yours to choose your activity as there will be free time during the day and over weekends and some long weekends. During this time, you may wish to do your own thing at home or explore the hills, lakes, rivers and beaches surrounding our home. Or there is also the option to get involved with some of Rob's creative projects which have included developing a music studio, gardening projects, restoring a boat, cooking and writing music for personal enjoyment. The choice is yours.

We have a second car which we won't be using. It is an auto hatchback & you are welcome to use it to explore the local area, hills and country side (2wd only), if you don't have your own vehicle.
You can park at Sale or Traralgon train stations and trains run to the city (Melbourne). Allow 3 hours for the journey on the train.

Our internet is excellent unless there is a fault by the server, but that is usually fixed within a day or two if that occurs and there are plenty of libraries nearby that will have excellent connection should that falter. We can set up a desk in your room, and I'm in the process of building a studio (office/ laundry/ gym) outside, which might be ready for your arrival. I also work from home 2 days a week.

    Billy (11 años)

Billy is a rescue dog and very grateful he is with a loving family. He is a senior, with plenty of play still left in him and he wants to be everyone'sfriend.
He is part kelpie, part something else... we used to guess part velociraptor/dingo/kangaroo, but now we just think it could be a Staffordshire Terrior, because he just wants to be there for people so much.
He is the most gentle dog and follows instructions, especially if there is a pat, cuddle or treat on offer for him, making him learn new things very quickly.
He doesn't jump up or lick. When he's in the house he stays on his day bed and he is not allowed on any furniture. His sleeping bed is outside in a kennel and he likes to tell us about visitors arriving and if the weather is going to change. He also likes to tell us when it is 6pm exactly, as this is dinner time.
He loves walks, hikes, runs, swimming in rivers and lakes and cuddling whenever he gets the opportunity to.
He would love to meet you.
