Hello! We are a coastal family of 4 living off the grid on a Gulf Island called Lasqueti (Xwe'etay). Our homestead is on a secluded 16 acre property where grow our own produce, hunt and fish. It is accessed by private boat or foot passenger ferry that leaves French Creek on Vancouver Island five days a week.
We deeply value our close knit eclectic community and live in harmony with the seasons, land and sea. Our Island is safe haven for generations of families, stewards of the land, and innovative visionaries~ we are very proud to call ourselves "Lasquetian's."
Open to solo traveler's, or couples with children, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who work independently and collaboratively. The diversity of our passion projects and chores include: greenhouse gardening, DIY carpentry, construction cleanup, yard maintenance, and the construction of a mobile food safe kitchen.
We start our days and chores early so that we can enjoy our afternoons relaxing adventuring and cooking a delicious dinner. We love to share farm to table meals and have potlucks with family and friends. A full kitchen is provided in the accommodation which includes basic kitchen necessities for your cooking pleasure. I am also happy to provide some meals which can be negotiated before hand depending on length of stay and number of 'workawayers'. For more info please feel free to reach out.
Note: There is a very small selection of groceries at "Provisions" - our cafe/ general store, so be sure to plan ahead. You can also hit the farmers market on Saturday's for goodies and a few farm stands.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Our homestead is located on the south end of Lasqueti Island- a 30 min drive from the False Bay ferry/ "downtown" area where the only pub and cafe are located, and a 2 min drive from the Squity Bay government dock and Provincial Park. It is easy, safe and fun to hitchhike! On occasion I'm more than happy to give you a lift if it works with the schedule.
