Hello,
I am Anita and live on an organic farm on a beautiful site overlooking the Säntis mountain.
With an elderly mother, many dogs and a couple of horses, I have my hands full and am always grateful for a helping hand and interesting conversation with openminded individuals.
As this is also a meditative & therapeutic burnout retreat, where energy is a central topic, I could have guests staying here from time to time, but work with them would not be part of the Workaway request.
Specifically, help with any practical odd-jobs around the house and garden, caring for my dogs, cats and horses and support with my mothers needs would be very welcome assistance.
A perk of this Stay for self-development enthusiasts, are the physical, mental, and emotional/spiritual growth opportunities on offer here.
Why not come for a win-win exchange and use the time here to grow yourself whilst helping me move towards my next set of dreams?
I look forward to hearing from you and to see what your talents may be.

I hope to encourage you to follow your dreams and live your potential.
I have fulfilled some of my dream-projects here on the farm and am looking to new horizons in the future for my next ones now. If you too are interested in animal behaviour and effective, fair, co-working between humans and dogs/horses, we will definitely have plenty to talk about and practically explore together in these areas.
Depending on the time of year you come, you will also be able to learn all about the seasonal activities on a farm: you learn to live with the rhythm of nature, the animals and the weather.
You will be living & working with a native German speaker / fluent English (US) speaker, so language practise in both is covered!
I am always innovating, adapting and improving what I do here and how I live and am a strong advocate for personal development. In this regard, you will surely learn some new ways to approach life, if you are curious about self-reflection and personal growth.
Ultimately, your interests will determine what you learn! :)Ayuda
Animals: There are sheep, horses, cats, dogs and rabbits - you'd be doing a great service if you enjoyed quietly spending time with them, to acclimatise them to human company and/or could help mucking out, walking, cleaning and feeding them. This would all depend on your experience and interest in spending time around the animals.
Home: In the household, cleaning and cooking are also available tasks for skilled and enthusiastic volunteers.
Family: As mentioned, my elderly mother also lives on the farm in her own apartment above where I live. If you have an inclination to helping with her needs, this could also be a welcome help.Idiomas hablados

You are welcome to stay in the recently renovated guest room – there you will find a desk & chair, two wardrobes and a bed with two mattresses, which can either be stacked as a single, so you have more floor space (e.g. for stretching etc.) or a double bed can be created. Next door you have access to your own private bathroom, with jacuzzi bathtub, WC and sink. This room is on the first floor of the farmhouse with spectacular views of the sunrise and mountain Säntis!
We will share the kitchen, where we eat two* meals around noon and evening. The kitchen is stocked with organic, regional and seasonal produce.
*I usually eat towards midday and in the evening. You are also welcome to breakfast, if you like to eat more often than this.Algo más...
About you - a responsibly, respectful and tidy individual. Ideally, you will bring clarity, order and good energy to whatever you do.
About the location – we are in Katon St. Gallen, in the East of Switzerland (German speaking part) and are located in a hilly, rural farming area, situated 769m above sea level. The bus stop is 20min walk from the farm and the nearest village is 3km away. The farm is situated on an open, sun-exposed plato, on a positive forcefield site.
About me – Anita (62 y.o.) – my dogs (I currently have 4) are never far from my mind or my side. In my spare time I love to do sheepdog training. I took over my parent’s farm nearly 30 years ago, on the condition it would become organic. Since then, I have utilised the nature, animals and farming to support youth projects, work with disabled individuals and burn-out patients. My motto is “Quality living for all” – a way of life I aspire to for myself and my animals, as well as educating others on along the way.
I spent 5yrs in America prior to taking on the responsibility of the farm, so speak fairly good English. I am a qualified burnout therapist, gardener, dog trainer and organic farmer. I never tire of learning and am always looking at what nature and the animals have to teach me!
In your free time - there are plenty of nice walks (forests, streams and hills) to explore directly from the farm, as well as public transport connections to more further afield destinations. You are also welcome to read books from the DE/EN collection in the house. I warmly invited to join me on any trips I take too - these are usually relating to man-trailing or sheep dog training with my Border Collies and Kelpie!Un poco más de información
