Thanks for your interest.
American expat who has a family finca (farm) in San Rafael, 3 1/2 hours south of Mendoza city, But I no longer live there. I have bought a new house with 2200 square meter of property that needs some up dating (house) and cleaning (property).
Please note: I do NOT accept smokers, vegetarians or celiacs. Also, since English is the common language amongst the travelers, you must be able to communicate and follow instructions in English. So please send your request in English so I know you speak and understand English. I speak both English and Spanish (argentine).
Thank you for understanding. I can only take one volunteer at a time for the moment.
I require a minimum stay of 2 weeks.
I expect table manners, no eating with your mouth open and smacking of lips will be tolerated.
PLEASE bring your own towel and toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, tooth paste, etc).
And you must like dogs, as I have 6 of them!
I am very friendly and outgoing, I have a good sense of humor and have patience. I would normally do this work myself, but due to an accident I am still limited in my abilities. The bus passes in front of the house hourly, and I am only 8 km from the very center of town.
I have unlimited fibre optic internet service. Very poor cell phone reception,
If you are accepted please note that you will need to provide an email and /or WhatsApp to communicate and coordinate your arrival.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

There are museums locally, there are the local farm workers to talk with, there is one of the best tourist attractions in Western Argentina here called "Valle Grande" with lots of touristy things to do but also lots of geological formations and lots of nice views. Volunteers will also be able to Practice English (we speak English at home since it the common language amongst volunteers, so please be able to follow instructions in English) and Spanish.

I need the property cleaned up and the limits secured to keep my dogs on the property, I has abandoned for a while.
There is also a bit of repair tasks to be done in the house. But the house is quite livable and I am there nowIdiomas hablados

Continental breakfast is provided, if you require a full breakfast then you will have pitch in to pay for it through extra hours or money, as well as a good lunch of sandwiches and soup or salads (or left overs from the previous night's dinner) and a complete dinner. Food provided is enough for the average person, ***so if you eat like a bottomless pit you will need to pitch in some food costs or help a little extra to make up for it*. Food is not "free"; it is partial compensation for the tasks done and food costs keep climbing due to the poor exchange rates.

Mendosa has a number of wine tours that are free to the public, there are also over 50 tourist agencies that can put together any type of excursions, such as traveling through the canyon, doing white water rafting during the summer, bike tours, etc.

I spent two weeks at Jeff's finca and I really enjoyed my time there.
The day to day Life and Jeff's expectations correspond totally to his profil and to the great reviews he had. I did some work with wood cutting, pruning, tying wines and working (as well as eating...) with dried prunes.

Thanks for all the help Romain!

It is quite a big finca and there is always work to be done, which Jeff does alongside the volunteers. He always tried to keep it interesting and give me different things to do, and although this time of year requires a lot pruning and preparing the vineyards/orchards I learnt a… read more
