LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR! 3 MONTHS MINIMUM COMMITMENT.
hello travelers, we really could do with support here from a handy person, carpentry, construction, someone who is good at fixing stuff and knows abut building stuff. In our region there isnt anyone really with these skill sets they all head off to the cities. We would love to learn from somone and also have them show our team some skills. This person would also be responsible for leading volunteers in the creation of these projects. for example chicken tractor, compost toilet roof and walls, fixing stuff up with natural pool and paths, building a bamboo storage and drying shed.
for the right candidate a stipend for food is available, the use of the farms pickup to go exploring after 3pm or weekends. And what ever you can forage from the farm, fruits, eggs, fish.
this position is open to a couple or even a family. you will get your own onsuite bedroom with air con. have weekends off, and only expected to work 5 hours per day. Also if you want to go and do a trip for a bit that is also fine if you leave the volunteers organized.
i dont know if this dream of finding someone is possible, i was once that person wich is how i ended up living here and having my own farm in Guatemala. I think this would be good for someone wanting an adventure or to start getting a root down in guatemala. Please get in contact if your intrested.
We are an experimental regenerative/ permaculture farm, It's a bit of a botanical sanctuary, with many unique species. Our vision is to create a paradise — a place of symbiosis between humans, animals, plants, and the elements. Though the land was once over-exploited by industrial agriculture, it's now transforming into an abundant, beautiful ecosystem.
You’ll be able to harvest much of what you eat here and experience a lifestyle rooted in connection with the land, animals, and local community. We also run a large tilapia aquaculture system, so if you’re interested in fish farming, you can learn or get involved!

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
This project is based in a rural, off-the-beaten-track area of Guatemala where no one speaks English — except us, your hosts, and any other volunteers. The local people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. You’ll have a unique opportunity to connect with villagers and especially the children, who love to come and play at the farm. It’s a perfect chance to practice your Spanish and learn from the daily life of the community. While no one here speaks Mayan languages, you can pick up local knowledge like how to make cheese, tortillas, traditional recipes, and many simple but brilliant tips for living in this environment that only locals know.

Calling All Nature-Loving Adventurers
We're looking for passionate, strong, and curious people to join us in our evolving regenerative farm project. If you love working with your hands, learning by doing, and immersing yourself in the wild beauty of nature — this might be the place for you.
This is a hot, sweaty, bug-filled paradise where mornings explode with birdsong, and the clay beneath our feet is slowly being transformed into fertile abundance. There are lizards, snakes, mangroves, jungle, and wide-open skies. This is not a retreat — it’s an adventure. A lifestyle. A mission.
We’re expanding our diverse agroforestry systems, experimenting with irrigation, developing a natural swimming pool, processing bamboo, and soon beginning to build with earth. We're also fixing up and painting the rustic buildings to make them more comfortable.
We’re especially looking for artists, farmers, carpenters, natural builders, animal lovers, and people who are good at fixing things and figuring stuff out. Anyone who is strong, fit, hands-on, and ready to learn by doing will thrive here.
This is not the place for people who just want a place to stay while they socialize or go out at night. This is a working farm, a learning space, and a living experiment in regeneration. To get the most out of being here, that has to be your focus too.
Expect to harvest your own food and live in a landscape where jungle meets Serengeti meets mangroves and the sea. Cowboys, kids, tortillas and beans, and a slower pace of life — more hands, less mind.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Alojamiento
I have rooms in the shared farmhouse — two private rooms with double beds and a bathroom. They are rustic but clean, safe, and comfortable. I also have two rooms with two single beds in each. All rooms have electricity and weak Wi-Fi. There’s plenty of good bedding and towels available.
Food & Cooking
We provide basic ingredients and a well-equipped kitchen (gas stove, rocket stove, pizza
oven, fridge/freezer, filtered water). Volunteers cook their own meals and clean up.
Included staples: beans, rice, oats, muesli, quinoa, sugar, salt, pasta, lentils, wheat flour, cooking oil.
Free farm foods: fish, eggs (when available), coconuts, papayas, bananas, mangos (in
season).
Farm shop (discounted volunteer prices): marmalades, jams, nut spreads, yogurt,
cheese, cream, kombucha, ice creams.
Local food options:
● Veg van: Tuesdays & Saturdays, 7:00 am
● Chicken sellers: Tuesdays & Fridays
● Cheese & tortillas: from Melvin’s wife
● Bread: nearby town shop (bus ride)
● Local stores: eggs, milk & basics
● City market (big market, Saturdays): 30 min bus ride
● Supermarket: 30 min bus ride after work
Algo más...
During your time off, you can explore the farm’s 28 hectares — go birdwatching, look for mammals, work on your own project, or lounge by the pool. You can take a boat trip into the mangroves and discover hundreds of lagoons and secret, secluded villages. Go fishing, visit the beach, enjoy local restaurants, or simply soak up the peaceful rhythm of the land.
For the more adventurous, head into the mountains to explore the cloud forests of Volcano Tequamburú, the volcanic mud lakes, and the old sulfur mines. Or visit the nearest city, wander through the bustling markets, and treat yourself to local foods like pupusas.

There is often bad signal, its reccomended you get your own sim card so we do not need to share the connection. Its often good enough to watch films, but many people sharing the same connection isnt a good idea.

Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
There’s plenty of space for motorhomes and campers. If you bring a dog, please make sure it has a tick and flea collar — the local ticks can carry Ehrlichiosis, which affects dogs but not humans. I’ve sadly seen many dogs fall seriously ill from it, so it’s important to be cautious and keep an eye on your pet. I love dogs, but I also need their humans to be responsible. If your dog becomes a nuisance — for example, by chasing livestock — be prepared to tie them up when needed.

Podría aceptar mascotas
We can except workawayers with pets but they must be well trained, no chasing animals!
