Jambo! Welcome, or as we say in Swahili: Karibu Arusha!
My name is Mwamvita, I am a sports and education coordinator here in Arusha and I am looking for helping hands at my daycare.
Our country is facing a number of social challenges ranging from high level of unemployment, declining educational and health services, low standard of living and food insecurity. Because of this, we founded our NGO.
Recently, there has been poor school attendance by students, especially in rural areas. Ignorance, food and water scarcity in school, poor playgrounds and lack of good sports infrastructures have been a major obstacle for good attendance hence the poor performance in education. In our organization, we started with two projects: (i) A project where we play with the kids through kids sports tournaments and (ii) a daycare for the kids to help families who are busy working or can’t afford full-time private care.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Our beloved volunteers will be experiencing/living a typical African lifestyle, Volunteers will also have the chance to learn the local language (Swahili), local dances, traditional Tanzanian fashion and have the time to interact with locals and learn from them.
Outside of the daycare, we can also offer assistance in organizing good deals for various excursions you may be interested in, such as safaris and trips to national parks (such as Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park and the famous Serengeti National Park) and to Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater as well as hikes up Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro.Proyectos con niños

Ayuda
Primarily, we need help taking care of the kids in the daycare centre. This includes playing with the kids (with toys, balls, bicycles etc.) as well as feeding them. Any social media, videography, photography, and/or website knowledge is welcome as well - we need assistance boosting our online presence, so anything you can offer in that area is appreciated. Daycare hours are 6am - 7pm, volunteers are welcome to choose the hours that suit them best. No prior experience in childcare is necessary, just the willingness to learn.

We are happy to provide basic meals 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for all volunteers. We can accommodate various diets, such as vegan/vegetarian; however we are also happy to let our volunteers prepare their own dishes (cultural dishes from their home).
Volunteers will be staying in a same-gender room at the daycare centre together, with room for 2 volunteers per room.
A private room can be arranged for couples as well upon request.Algo más...
As we have mentioned, volunteers will have time to visit different places, such as day tripping safaris, visiting the hot springs, different villages close to Arusha to see the water falls, and time to visit other volunteer programs in the area which are doing the same activities we are doing.
Main methods available for transportation in the area include the boda boda (motorcycle), bajaji (aka tuktuk), daladala (mini bus), and others modes as well (such as taxis). They are fairly affordable (ranging from 20 cents to 1 euro/dollar).Un poco más de información
