We are a family of 3: My dad Jean-Philippe (in his late 50s), my brother Gabriel (early 20s) and myself Ophélie (late 20s). We moved to the Ardèche mountains three years ago and it's a 20 minute drive from our place to the city of Annonay. My father wants to run his guesthouse in the most sustainable way possible and also wants to show our guests a way of life that puts its focus on the surrounding nature. We live in complete tranquility surrounded by wilderness and just in front of the house is the mountain Chante-Oiseau (so literally Singing-Bird), with its peak at 1100 meters.
The property comprises three buildings ; the main house in which we live, the guesthouse and the barn.
We have got two dogs, Iris and Luna and a cat Puschkin.

There are several ongoing projects: Transforming the barn into a guesthouse (building straw-soil walls, building bathrooms and toilets, a kitchen, etc.); Building a stable for the goats or even a chicken house - just to mention a few.

We would be taking care of the guesthouse ourselves. The Workawayers won't be taking any part in the business activity.

Nous sommes une famille de deux/trois personnes; mon père Jean-Philippe 58 ans, mon frère Gabriel 20 ans et moi-même Ophélie 28 ans. Nous nous sommes installés il y a trois ans dans la montagne Ardéchoise à 20 min d'Annonay. Mon père voulait avoir des gîtes écolos et montrer aux voyageurs qu'un autre mode de vie est possible. Nous vivons en pleine nature à 900m d'altitude, la maison se trouve face à la montagne, le Mont Chante-Oiseaux (1100m) et est entouré par la foret.
La propriété se compose de la maison principale, d'un gîte et d'une grange.
Il y a différents projets en cours notamment d’importants travaux dans la grange que nous comptons transformer en gîte également ; construction de cloisons en terre-paille, mise en place de salles de bain, toilettes, cuisine,... Et à l'extérieur, construction d'une étable pour des chèvres, construction d'un poulailler, ...
Nous avons deux chiens, Iris et Luna, et un chat Puschkin.

Nous nous occupons nous-mêmes du gîte. Les Workawayers ne prendront aucune part à l'activité commerciale

Here, you could learn to work with ecological materials and also learn to tinker in various ways. You could learn how to install electricity and how to do plumbing, how to construct and repair things, masonry and stonework or take care of the garden... We have a plantation of berry bushes, so depending on the season you could learn how to make jam. :) I speak French, German and English and I would be glad to teach you one of those languages, if you feel like it.

Chez nous, vous pourrez apprendre à rénover en utilisant des materiaux écologiques, apprendre à bricoler, faire un peu d'électricité et de plomeberie, s'occuper du jardin... Nous avons une plantation de fruits rouges, suivant la saison vous pourrez faire des confitures :) Je parle français, allemand et anglais et serai ravie de vous aider à apprendre l'une de ces trois langues si vous en avez envie.

We need help to take care of the garden, clean the house, and also need help when it comes to transforming the barn. My dad injured his knee recently and needs help to take care of the house. I won't be home all the time because I have a job in a village nearby. There is a lot of work to do outside and in the barn and if you are interested in learning how to work with ecological materials and to renew an old building, this place is made for you :))

We would be taking care of the guesthouse ourselves. The Workawayers won't be taking any part in the business activity.

Nous avons besoin d'aide pour entretenir le jardin, entretenir la maison et d'aide pour continuer les travaux de rénovation dans la grange. Mon père a des problèmes au genou et à besoin d'aide pour pouvoir s'occuper de la maison. Je ne serai moi-même pas présente tout le temps car j'ai un emploi dans les environs. Il y a beaucoup à faire dehors et dans la grange et si vous vous voulez apprendre comment travailler avec des matériaux écologiques et rénover de l'ancien, cet endroit est fait pour vous :))

You will be sleeping in a tent (see photo). I precise that it's only temporary. Our number 1 project is to arrange a room in the barn for the Worawayers. We just have to build the straw/soil wall, to lay wooden parquet and to furnish the room. That should have been done by now but since my dad injurded his knee, we couldn't go through with it..

Vous serez logé dans une tente (voir photo). Je précise que cela est seulement temporaire. Notre projet numéro 1 est l'aménagement d'une chambre dans la grange pour les Workawayers. Il ne nous reste qu'à monter les cloisons, poser du parquet et meubler la chambre. Cela aurait du être fait mais l'accident de mon père a retardé les travaux..
