Hello! Hola!
My husband Jonathan and I (Jennifer) purchased a non-functioning hotel/hostle, right on the bay of Golfito. This is our private home, not open to the public or functioning as a business. Our goal is to lovingly bring this space to center, filled with love, stories and friendship. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one month and up to 3 months. The property has a beautiful pool we would like to teach volunteers how to manage and maintain,
We are looking for self motivated, clean and organized volunteers who have an understanding of the following life/home skills.
**Basic construction, handyman wish list! 🥰
* understanding the process from beginning to end to properly prep surfaces for repair and painting of concrete and stucco
* concrete and cinderblock removal, repair and installation
* Remove and install windows
*Basic plumbing
*Tile work
*Minor landscaping , indoor and outdoor potted plants (we have a very small yard)
**Household day to day wish list! 🙏
*people who enjoy cooking! We love food and sharing meals. We have been blessed with a few volunteers who were culinary genius’! We love to learn new recipes and enjoy cooking side by side in our humble, outdoor, commercial kitchen.
* Cleaning, janitorial, caretaker and property manager type skills needed.
*The property needs daily upkeep of the hallways ,open areas, bathrooms, bedrooms, pool area and decking. Dock maintenance and laundry. Our home is mainly open, covered areas, except the bedrooms/bathrooms and one main salon. We are open to the elements so daily sweeping and mopping is a must.
*Pets! At this writing, we have one sweet, bigger dog who needs 2 walks a day, brushing, potty pick-up and feeding. But, we have started rescuing and sterilizing some of the street cats. So there will likely be daily caring for our little kitty recovery room.
We need at least an INTERMEDIATE LEVEL of English and Spanish would be very useful.
Depending on how many volunteers we have, there are semi-private rooms and private rooms. We offer room and 2 meals a day.
As this is a home in progress, we may have local construction workers who will be on-site off and on, throughout the week days.
Our end goal, is to have this be a place people will come for retreats, meditation and healing. Sharing the journey along the way with people from around the world is our hope.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

learn about the Golfo Dulce and Golfito Bay. Learn the local culture and foods. The outer bay hosts so much sea life. Including over 400 local dolphins, seasonal whales, turtles, hammerhead sharks and a host of fish. There are coral reefs for snorkeling or diving.
The area around Gilfito has many places to go hiking, kayaking, yoga and more.
Our home has a relaxed atmosphere with views on top of views of the bay. A beautiful space where the ocean and the sky provide an endless array of memorable scenes. Oh and the occasional dolphins, turtles, rays, needle fish that swim past our dock.Ayuda
general maintenance, art work/murals, animal care, helping around the home, light building projects. (painting, pool maintenance, room design) light gardening and cleaning.

Since this was a hotel, we have several rooms, all with their own bath. some have 2 queen beds, one has 3. others have a single queen or a bunk bed. we have an outdoor "pool bar" kitchen with a pizza oven.
We have an indoor kitchen that is not currently being used. We have been able to cook and feed easily 15 to 20 in the outside kitchen. It has a commercial stove with griddle as well. we will provide breakfast but will expect volunteers to assist with preparing meals and cleaning up after. Dinner is also provided and the same as above. We encourage people to prepare their own meals if they have special dietary needs, but really are looking for people who want to share in the meal time activities. We have 2 commercial 'Ninja" blenders for smoothies and juice, we have a large Berkey and an AquaTrue water filter systems, but the water here is absolutely OK to drink.Algo más...
the town of Golfito is a small, quaint fishing village. Most things to do and see are by a quick taxi ride or by boat. There are small boats, called pangas, that act like water taxis, to go to places like Playa Cacao, Puerto Jimenez, and surrounding areas. there is also a daily ferry. There are many places to go hiking in the surrounding mountains as well. There are also many eco-tours to see whales, dolphins, surf beaches and the incredible Corcovado National Park.

Jennifer & Jonathan welcomed me into their family as if I’d always been part of it. It didn’t take long for me to feel completely at home.
