Descripción
We have a small farm (20.000m2) in the countryside 30 km outside of Lisbon, near Barreiro, Portugal.
The area of the house and lawn is supposed to be used for mindfulness, yoga and non-violent communication practice groups or events in the future. A geodesic dome was built but we still need some construction and maintenance around it.
We have a highway close by, so we are working on a solution to reduce the sound impact as soon as possible, help for that is very welcome!
Biological gardening for internal use is very important to us, the vegetable garden and fruit trees are already planted but it needs to be maintained.
Usually we have harvest vegetables and fruits and some additional products can be bought from the neighbour to support regional and seasonal shopping, other items of food and supplies can be bought on the supermarket.
We also like to help a sanctuary for animals that belongs to Margarida, she is also a member of our project and visits the place every day.
Luis and Silvia are the owners, they don't live on location, but they will receive you and give all the help and directions they can and visit you from time to time.
If you are a smoker please refrain from smoking near the house and please be careful and keep the buts with you.

The project is based on generosity, mindfulness and non-violent communication.
Most of the times the workawayers like to spend their evenings together playing games and music or talking.
You can use your leisure time to discover the area around.
Take the chance to visit Lisbon with the ferry from Barreiro or using the train near by or visit the beaches of costa da caparica using the train and bus.

For some main tasks we are looking for skilled/professional people:
-Mechanical for maintenance of the truck and machines
-Carpentry and wood work (building some small wood shelters a small glass house)
-Repairing fences
-Planting bushes for a nice way to reduce visual and sound impact
And of course, there are always some general tasks to be done:
-General maintenance
-Cooking and cleaning
-Gardening, taking care of the vegetables, aromatics, flowers and fruit trees

Alojamiento
The house has 4 bed rooms, each with heater, full bedding and towels.
Together with other workawayers you share one bathroom and there is a second toilet next to the entrance of the kitchen.
The kitchen and dining room are in a separate building, we provide all vegan and vegetarian food as we are animal lovers.
If you want to eat meat or luxury food or drink, you can but please be aware to have to buy it yourself.
We have a cosy living room with a fire place, which is named the Wi-Fire room by the workawayers as you have internet access from this room. Also it has a sound systems and a snooker table for you to use to have some fun times after work.

The place is close to Lisbon and not far from some beaches.
We have a van, which can be used to do the shopping and going to the train station of Fertagus - Penalva. Please be aware to take a little part in the expenses for fuel when you use it for your leisure time. There is also a bus and we have bikes you can use.
You can walk 200m to use the bus to get to Barreiro, the city close by.
You can the 20min boat trip from Barreiro to get to the centre of Lisbon with beautiful views.
You can get the train in Penalva to get to Pragal and then take a bus to the beautiful beaches of Costa da Caparica.
You can the 30min train journey in Penalva to get to Sete-Rios metro station in Lisbon, crossing the bridge on the train.

There are lots of possibilities ther to create a wonderfull place for retreats.
