I really enjoyed the communal living in the workaway area and was lucky to meet a whole bunch of legends to share my time in Squamish with. John, Sarah and Tessa were all so friendly, welcoming and generous enough with their time to take us all on some wonderful day trips!

Lucie and Vaclav were an absolute joy to have here.
They solidified and enhanced the community spirit within the work away team.
Lucie and Vaclav worked hard and always did their best whatever task was asked of them.
They were wonderful,friendly and accommodating with our campers.
We miss them.
That was our first workaway stay ever and honestly we couldn't choose better! Originally, we wanted to stay there for two or three weeks, but we ended up staying for almost two months. Together with another volunteers we made a huge workaway family and enjoyed our time in Squamish at its best. Thank you all for the opportunity! PS: Thanks to video call with Sarah at the beginning everything was clear, we knew what to expect and that we chose the host well.

I stayed for a month at the campground and i had a great time. It was my first workaways and set the bar very very high for every workaway after this! The work doesn't really feel like work and it's just cleaning in the morning and check-ins in the afternoon/evening. So you have a lot of free time to enjoy nature.

I've spent two weeks in May on the campground and it was one of the best time I've had in Canada!

I recommend to everybody to volunteer for this campground. The place is amazing, you have a lot of free time where you can do whatever you prefer. Squamish offers you a ton of possibilities, in particular for outdoor activities (climbing, trail running, hiking, canoeing, etc). … read more not heavy. Facilities are essential, but it's not necessarily something negative. Town center and all the shops are too far to get there walking, but there are bikes at your disposition, or it's not difficult to hitch a ride.
John, the owner, is awesome. You'll feel welcome since the first moment you step in the camping. He loves Squamish and he'll show you the area, providing suggestion for anything you'll ask. He is continuosly working on projects to upgrade the structure.
Tessa is managing the campground, she's very sensitive and comprehensive, she'll help you. Thanks to her work, there have been a lot of improvements in the organisation of dailies task and daily life.

I arrived at the campground to stay for four weeks through the middle of July and start of August. I ended up returning for a few days just to see everyone again, my stay here was so good!
I was picked up from my bus by John, the guy behind the whole campground. He took me to see Squamish and get a good idea of the place whilst telling me his and
… read more the campground's story. I felt welcome from our very first meeting and had nothing but excitement to get started. I was loaned a tent to sleep in for my stay, right behind the workaway site, which had one of John's old mattresses in for extra comfort.
The typical work day here consists of two hours in the morning, and three in the afternoon (however you can split it up to fit what you'd like). I spent most of my mornings cleaning the outhouses, which were in extremely good condition due to consistent upkeep! The check-ins between 3pm and 9pm were where my day got really good. It was incredible meeting so many people from all around the world and hearing their stories. The middle of the day was my own to spend, and I was even lucky enough to be taken on some adventures by John!
Tessa was nothing but supportive throughout my entire stay, and I cannot thank her enough for making my time here so special. She guided me through my tasks and helped out whenever we needed her to. She was always a comfort for me and someone to talk to.
For shopping, laundry, and general travel around Squamish, there are a few bikes that workaways can use. The recreation centre where many of us chose to shower was a three minute cycle, and downtown squamish just 10 minutes. It really couldn't be easier.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this campground to anyone who doesn't mind not being in 5* accommodation. There is no running water there so if you want to shower you have to pay for one elsewhere. For me, this turned into a fun time out with my fellow workaways as we'd go swimming at the same time.
