-We are currently looking for people with skills in woodworking or eco construction, as we are working on some bamboo construction and also want to start making our own furniture from locally harvested wood.
Besides that we are looking for people interested in permaculture to give our permaculture project a boost!
In the middle of the spectacular jungle of northern Colombia we are building the worlds coolest and most sustainable off-grid hostel, our Neverland for grownups.
We, Daan and Garlyn are a Dutch couple who moved to Colombia, and together with our Argentinian friend and permaculture expert Nico we to try and live our life in a way that aligns with our ideals of sustainability and adventure. We have bought a huge spectacular jungle plot along the stunning Buritaca river, where we will be using mostly local materials and eco-friendly techniques to build a unique travel experience. We want to show our guests that eco-tourism and sustainability are more than empty labels or marketing ploys to lure in guests.
Our hostel will be one of a kind, with a strong focus on the adventurous experience. Think treehouses along a jungle river, suspension bridges to cross over rivers and between trees, showering between gorgeous jungle ferns and picking your own fruit snacks from our tropical garden.
We have a thousand and one ideas to make this place fantastic, but we're convinced that there are more great ideas out there. So if you are creative, have weird/silly/crazy ideas or are still an adventurous kid at heart, we love to hear your input!Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

What we offer is a once in a lifetime experience: on an incredible location you can hone your skills or leave your artistic footprint behind and be part of building something unique.
You are in the heart of the Sierra Nevada, our neighbors are Kogi indians, farmers and the wildlife, so you'll experience the true Colombia while staying with us. We can teach you about sustainibility and eco-friendly construction methods, and share our vision for the future of tourism.Ayuda
We are looking for people who have skills and experience in woodworking, (eco)construction, sustainability or engineering, or people who are eager to expand their skills in this area.
We are about to begin construction on our main building, which we will be building out of bamboo.
Most of our help at this moment is quite physical, so we are looking for people who are fit and not afraid to do some physical but rewarding help. And there is always a refreshing river to jump into if you're at the point of overheating :-)
We will also ask you to help out with the daily chores such as cooking, doing the dishes and keeping the camp and facilities in nice order, since we will all need to contribute to keep our camp nice and livable.Idiomas

Great place to work on your Spanish, Nico is a latino who is learning English, and we also have Colombian workers that sometimes speak English as well. A intermediate grasp of English or Spanish is a requirement. Un dominio intermedio de inglés o español es un requisito.Alojamiento
During our time in quarantine we have managed to build a nice camp where we live. It has a kitchen, a dining table and even a hammock cinema with a roof that opens up in good weather!
Accomodations for our volunteers consist of hammocks in two little huts at our camp. If you have your own camping gear you are of course welcome to bring those as well.
Since we're a good bit away from the nearest village with restaurant options we will be providing all volunteers with 3 meals a day. In line with our principles of building a sustainable business these will be completely vegan, and sourced from local products as much as possible. We of course welcome any volunteers with an affinity for food and cooking to contribute where they want!
We will be working during the weekdays, and chill out and relax in the weekend.
A mototaxi from the main road(Troncal del caribe) costs 40k pesos. It is also possible to hike from the nearest town of Machete Pelao. It is a fantastic walk, with amazing views and paths leading through gorgeous jungle and past an indigenous settlement. The hike is partly the same route as the lost city trek, and we also have some indigenous artefacts at the end of it :-)
-We have 3 dogs; Chilo, Lily and scotty, and 3 horses, Gloria, Isabella and Pepino
-Vegan meals
-Camping style accomodation (we have a spare tent with a sleeping mat, and several comfy hammocks to sleep in for volunteers without camping gear),
-guaranteed adventurous experience
-We have a water filter to provide us with plenty of drinking water
-Plenty of time and opportunity to enjoy nature, relax and swim!
-Remote! Nearest village is 15 minute motor ride or 1 1/4 hour hike away
-We both have a first aid diploma and a well stocked firstaid kit, but will aim for the highest possible safety when helping.
-can be combined with lost city trek, since we are already partly on the way there. talk to us about setting it up for you!Algo más...
In between the construction work there will be time for plenty of exploring the area, finding hidden waterfalls in the jungle, jumping off cliffs into the refreshing river or just observe the wildlife around camp
There are hikes to make to our neighbors cacao farm, or our other neighbors hidden jungle river(magical pictures guaranteed)
Since it takes some time to get new people up and running and we are pretty far away from civilization to spend much time coordinating volunteers we are asking for a minimum commitment of 3 weeks.Un poco más de información
Acceso a Internet
Acceso a Internet limitado
Tenemos animales
Somos fumadores
Puede alojar familias
Puede acoger a nómadas digitales
There is satellite internet in our camp, so you can keep in touch with home and do your things. The connection is somewhat limited, depending on the weather and how far along we are using our monthly data. Don' t count on netflix or youtube, but whatsapp, social media and google are no problem. Since we have a different data package in the early morning hours(we get 50GB a month to use between 02:00 and 08:00), the internet is open for volunteers until 08:00. If you do need it outside of those hours, like for work or study, you can always looking at buying some extra data to use for that.

Tia came with the idea to "help a few weeks" and ended up staying for 10. When she arrived it was just me(Daan) and her, and we spent christmas just the two of us, getting to know each other over some old 90's penelope cruz movie :-)
