Alisande and is extremely kind and we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived to volunteer. She introduced me and my boyfriend to her sustainable homestead, teaching us why she does things the ways she does as we worked together. Ali works with nature, caring for the land and environment that also nurtures her. It was beautiful to see how this

Also, we loved interacting with her sweet cat, Joshua, and the people who share Ali's home. We learned how to identify different plants, how to care for these plants, how even pulled weeds have a useful role in the running of the homestead. We enjoyed gardening in her food forest. Ali introduced us to new foods, and afterward we were able to go out into the forest on our own and identify and forage for specific plants. Ali has a calm, strong energy, and she is generous in her time and care. Thank you for your friendship. We will be back!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

My stay at Alisande's homestead was very restorative and interesting; I stayed for almost two weeks as a trial period, and hope to return for a longer stay. This was my third workaway experience, and my first in my home country. There are so many wonderful things to say!!
Even though I'm from the same country, I feel like we had a very good
… read more cultural exchange as I learned about this area and the community here, which is very unique. She has a wealth of knowledge about plants and living on the land that so many people could benefit from learning (which is somewhat rare in this country; this is a good exchange for people from this country as well as for those travelling internationally.) It was also really fun to cook with her, and she is so welcoming and easily accomodated my dietary restrictions as a vegan. Great quality food, and the lodging was really nice too. She needs a lot of help since she's older (there's no shortage of work to do), but she has a lot to teach and is young at heart. She's a strong woman!! And the nearest town (which is very cool and unique with lots to do) is a long bike ride away, or a short car ride away.
A heads up: the workaway profile is a little out of date as I'm writing this. The community described is in flux, as new people are moving in. But it is truly intergenerational as described. She is also in the process of getting new goats, as she had to sell her old ones (but ask her about the goats; she is especially passionate about them!)
Her vision for the non-profit-- to teach homesteading skills-- is also really inspiring, and I was happy to contribute to such a project. If you want to learn about homesteading in a sustainable way, this is a great place to go. I really love the way she treats her animals, and as a vegan it was nice to listen and watch her philosophy on livestock care. Also, the land she's on is out-of-the-way and gorgeous, and really peaceful if you're looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle (which I was, coming from Boston and during the pandemic) while still having access to modern amenities. There's also an option to live in a very rustic room out in the woods without wifi or electricity if you are looking for that; the woods are very peaceful.
All in all, a very good workaway experience, especially for those interested in learning a lot of skills and exploring a very culturally interesting area. Thank you so much for letting me stay!! It was truly a pleasure. :)

We don't have enough wonderful things to say about our (too) short time with Alisande! We felt like part of the family right off the bat, and felt at home and encouraged to be ourselves and also given clear options of tasks we were able to complete, while also allowing us to flex our skill set! Our boys just loved being here as well, which is a

This was my very first workaway experience, although i am very late to leave a review, please forgive me!
Even before i arrived to the farm, Alisande was very communicative and flexible to my last minute request. I had planned to camp at a nice platform at the far end of her property but sudden rain and wind collapsed my tent within hours of my
… read more arrival! But Alisande was so wonderful! She wouldn't even hear of me trying to stay in the tent again... She happened to have an unoccupied guest room that she insisted i take, which of course meant i was very comfortable for the duration of my stay here! My fiance was welcome to visit me during the day, on my free time, and we all enjoyed our interactions very much and even a few shared meals together.
While i was here, i mostly helped with deep cleaning and organizing the kitchen and rearranging the guest room. I also really enjoyed making several soups with ingredients that were generously provided. There was another helper staying here at the same time as me and he mostly braved the outdoor gardening and maintenance projects. The weather was unusual rainy for August so i was happy to be kept busy indoors, Although I went on an a few visit to check on the goats and on occasion, i helped cut them some feed from local shrubs and trees (Alisande took the time to patiently explain which were edible and which were poisonous).
I was also invited to accompany Alisande and her friends on adventures around town and i got to experience some very creative street art performances in downtown North Hampton and a fascinating lecture on medicinal plants. She also Introduced me to the fascinating Sirius Ecocummunity located just a 15min walk from her farmstead.
When i departed, she helped me move my motorbike from her property to a friends over 8 miles away from her place, (she allowed me to follow her car while i drove the motorbike at a SLOWWW 30mph on busy surface streets, all the while, slowing traffic for me and not even blinking an eyelash about it). Alisande is a very gracious and goodnatured person! She even voluntarily found me a lift to Boston by posting a rideshare request for me in her Amherst community web group.
Honestly, Alisande really went above and beyond to accommodate and make me feel welcome and comfortable throughout my first workaway experience! I can only hope I was as helpful to her as she was to me. If my schedule allows, i would love to return again... Until then i'm so happy we are friends on social media and i can watch the progress of the the farm as it becomes a Permaculture and goat haven in Central Massachusetts...Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Eve Sara was a fantastic person to host. She helped deep clean and organize the whole house and get ready for a new season of BnB. She was competent, knowledgeable, cheerful and fun to work with.
I highly recommend her for helping with any kind of project. She is an excellent communicator and we were delighted to work with her. She lives her life
