This was my first workaway expereince, and it remains my best. They welcomed me into their home with kindness. The experience was so great that I had to come back to visit them one more time before leaving Sicily. The place that they had for me to stay was excellent. It was comfortable, clean, and organized. They have three cute cats and a puppy
… read more named Chandra, who I left my heart with. Stefania and Aman are excellent chefs and I was well fed the whole time with delicious home cooked meals. I am now addicted to ricotta salata, the best cheese I have ever had in my whole life. The work was pretty easy. I helped mostly with simple chores around the house. One task was preparing the space to host family and friends for parties. This included washing the patio, sweeping, setting up tables, and cleaning up after. Their friends are very enjoyable and interesting people and getting to know them made the experience even better. Another task was helping Aman with general gardening. This included cleaning the garden, moving rocks, and replacing tiles on the patio. Overall, the work was all enjoyable because through the process I had good conversations with Aman and Stefania that made it feel like I wasn't working at all. Beyond just working, they made sure I had the opportunity to get to know Catania while I was there. They took me out to see the city and brought me to the volcano. I also went to see Mira's play. My stay with this family was not long enough! They are loving happy people and it was very refreshing to spend time with them! I was able to help them out a little bit with their project and they helped me to learn a bit of Italian. It was overall a wonderful experience!

A very sweet couple! Friendly, nice, open, simple and willing to meet others by heart.

… read more friends for it. That's another subject: their friends and parents are as absolutely amazing as our hosts and the kids. A community in which is impossible to be ungrateful and is, as we told Aman the moment we say goodbye, the best of our trip to Sicily. We'll be back for sure.

… read more beautiful property where they live with a big garden and the meditatiin center where I had the chance to do a meditation with them, very exciting by the way.
The ssummercamp was amazing, I tauchgt some Spanis lessons and the rest of the work was setting the table and arranging the meals, and cheking everything was in order, so it was really easy.
The children were all charming and always willing to play and learn new things.
We also went to Etna and to the beaxh the last day.
Honestly I felt like as part of their family, I new a lot of people, and the food... well it was really good and they let me eat as muchas as I wanted ( I eat a lot, for real...)

To have Alex in our house has been such a pleasure and an unexpected enrichment for all of us. And we already miss him!
Since he arrived he immediately understood how to move in the house and how to be supportive in the management of daily chores; we did not need to ask or explain anything! It seems he knew the place and our habits!

He is independent, always available and very attentive to not bother the others in anyway. Our kids loved him! They liked to tell him stories about Sicily and they loved listening to his tales about Argentina and the places he visited. When sitting together the time was running away without even noticing it!
