Hi, I’m Filippo, I am 30 years old and come from Italy. After years of living all around the world, I permanently moved to Portugal in 2020 and started developing my own place.
I have a classic education in Agriculture. I studied and worked all over the world before moving here. Now my time is split up between developing my farm and cultivating old vineyards that I am slowly recovering and bringing back to production for winemaking.
The farm is around 3 Ha, with the main house, veggie garden, pine forest and more. It’s an idyllic place in the countryside just 10 minutes drive from some of the most beautiful beaches Portugal has to offer. The main village, Aljezur can be reached by bicycle or car in just a few minutes. There you will find anything you need (pharmacy, grocery store, farmers market, shops, …).
To run and manage the farm we take inspiration from traditional farm practices, organic farming and permaculture learned through direct experience with local farmers. We are not fanatic on one way of working and we take what we think works good for us from each different philosophy. The core of the project is to design effectively in order to minimise inputs, improving soil quality and generating a balanced system. Efficiency is at the base of every decision.
We need help with general land maintenance in the farm including veggie garden, small DIY projects, gardening, painting, decorating and others. We ask volunteers to help only on our land and with the tasks previously mentioned not in wine making / production.
If you're curious and interested in our small natural winemaking operation we'll be more than happy to show you how we work. We personally cultivate all our grapes and our wines are 100% handmade, they really express the raw energy of this place.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We will be sharing good times on the land and I can give you some precious local insights on things to do around the area. There is always a lot to do, share and learn from each other. I speak Italian, French, English, Portuguese and Spanish. Again, I have a higher education in agriculture and years of experience in the field and I will be happy to share some insights on how the things happen here on the farm.

I ask travelers to contribute with different tasks, depending on the season and skills. There will be help in the veggie garden, general land help, small building projects (compost toilets, small structures, wooden decks, ...) and landscaping. Based on your skills and priority of things that need to be done we will find a solution that is best for you and me.

The accommodation consists in a fantastic place at the bottom of the property. There is a big 4 m bell tent which is suitable to groups of up to 3 friends or couples. In addition there’s another 3 people camping tent that is usually occupied by a single person or a couple. The space also includes an outside shower, compost toilet and outside kitchen with gas stoves. You will find all you need for a comfortable stay. There will be a maximum of 3-4 people sharing the whole place, lots of room for everybody.
If you have a van or personal tent you can also choose to set it up and access kitchen and bathroom.
No pets allowed.
Food provided from veggie garden plus basics such as pasta, rice, ... If you have particular needs, you're vegan or vegetarian and have special dietary requirements, that will be on you. I will be happy to suggest local markets to source the best produce.

There is so much to do on your time off. From surfing or chilling on one of the several amazing beaches around the area. You can explore the countryside and its small villages, check out local pottery shops and just have a good time. If you wish, there is also the possibility for some paid extra jobs that you can perform during your time off (land clearing, small construction/painting jobs and other similar tasks). I can sometimes provide a bicycle to go to town but a car or some basic transportation is needed to fully enjoy the area. There is also a bus that goes from the farm to the village and from the village to the beach.

I currently don't have WiFi that can reach the volunteer's area so you will need to take care of it yourself. There is also a great cafe/coworking space just few minutes from the farm that offer some great coffee and vegetarian/vegan meals.
Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
As mentioned before, you are more than welcome to stay in your own van and have access to the facilities. We can discuss the use of electricity and water based on your personal needs

the fully nomad lifestyle was a bit scary at the begining but after a short time we could get used to everything, and fell in love with the outdoor living.
we usually worked from 8-12 with a coffee break in between and we had our afternoons and weekends completely free. The… read more
I would definitely recommended to stay there. If you have a car it's better
It was a pleasure !
Not only is Filippo one of the friendliest and down to earth human I ever met, but he also provides an above average accomodation for workawayers (bed, warm shower, toilet, basic food and veggies from garden and he even went shopping especially for me).
And (I cannot not mention it) he has the cutest dog, lennox.
