I am very shocked after reading your feedback.
Don't understand why this is posted over a year later.
You did your job well. but it was very difficult to have personal contact with you. You locked yourself in your room. there was no interaction. I also offered to show you the area. all this turned you down. even eating together at the table was

For me, workeway is not only about someone to help me with work but also social contact. we decided together that you would look for another workeway address. you indicated that you want to leave the next morning and that you already have something to stay. I brought you to the train at the time you requested. given you food and drink for the road. #redacted text# I want to give everyone a great experience. and be in a friendy social invironment.
i wish you the best.

I stayed with Chris for one week in early 2020 as the virus first entered Europe. I thought it best to leave feedback, even if a bit late.
I travelled with a two week interrail ticket. I decided to look at last minute hosts to do some work for the last journey before the return to the UK. Chris kindly accepted my request to work, and I travelled
… read more from Germany to her place. The area is beautiful with lovely sky and trees. I spent a day walking and running locally.
The work was very well-organized for my visit and was what made the trip interesting. The work was rewarding too. I would excavate earth from the cellar with a mechanical breaker and remove it with the company of Chris’s dog Floyd. I was also to prepare the floor in an outbuilding and lay a new concrete floor with other workmen, while Chris fetched the materials in a tipper truck.
In her absence, I hit my head on a low beam in the cellar that is obscured behind a curtain in the internal entrance to the work area! Despite this, I worked quite hard and finished the jobs early. Chris was very good company initially, and we got on OK. She even offered to give me an acupuncture treatment!
After four days work, my communication with the host during free time became more difficult. She seemed less interested in having me in her place, but not for any specific reasons, except perhaps that the job was nearing completion. Chris was also critical of my traveller's description versus how I conducted myself in my free time during the short week, though the work was very physical with shovelling most of the time, not something that I had been recently acclimatized to. Perhaps being a more remote type of listing, the host here might enjoy the time spent with volunteers outside the working hours more than I might have imagined coming from a busy town. However, the work was hard enough to put me out of action most days.
One day after lunch, she asked me to leave during a slightly heated discussion. This was not a bad thing. I was more than happy to leave, and would soon have suggested it myself if she had not. Chris then insisted I stay! to help the paid workers concrete the floor with wheel-barrows and cement mixer the next day. I agreed to stay as I would need Chris to take me to the train in her car if I was to leave, or I would at least need her help to organize leaving at a good time for a long journey. #redacted text# On The final day, work was tense as I was working with Chris’s friends, and she had already kicked me out in advance for the following day. This left me feeling a bit vulnerable. I researched how to leave if I needed to. I should really have left, but was too far from any town with my big trolley suitcase.
The job completed and looked very good. The next day, Chris gave me a lift early for the first train. Unfortunately, I did not sleep that well and did not have time to prepare my next move beyond getting the first train. To top it, I had half my luggage (90L backpack) stolen at tours station while trying to book a room on the phone in a tired state. That is not Chris’s fault, but this kind of thing should be done before leaving.
I wish Chris the best of luck.:)Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

I had a great workaway experience staying with Chris! She lives in beautiful part of France with stunning forested hills. Chris is a kind and thoughtful person and made me feel at home during my stay. She gave me a variety of jobs I could do and was fair in the work she expected.
