//I get lots of messages on here, I’ll do my best to get back to you//
My outdoor adventure property is situated on 150 acres of riverfront land in Muskoka, Ontario. There is over 2km of private riverfront, and two waterfalls. It is a 2km long snowshoe or atv to the property from town (I live in town). I guide adventure tours at the land, and produce maple syrup. However, my main business is excavating & landscaping for cottages on nearby lakes. Pay is $17/hr. Will pay $20/hr for experienced skilled trades. 15-25 hours per week, 6 days a week.
We often venture into town for the gym, to play sports, get groceries etc. It is not easy living off grid out in the woods, colder seasons especially will be a test, so guests should be used to the outdoors, lighting fires, have appropriate attire etc.
This spring workaway adventure, when I plan to host about 3-4 workawayers out at a time, will take place from approximately March 1st until April 15th. You will be staying in a canvas tent with wood stove (possibly with other guests- will keep girls/guys separate), some guests may get a private cabin. Hot showers are only available at the recreation centre which we'll go to every 3-4 days. Hot tubs on site are available the other days. There are outhouses but no full washrooms. We have had a snowy winter, and the first few days will be digging out the camps and getting the camps setup. We'll then be tapping trees and finalizing some work in the maple sugar shack. Once the sap season begins we'll be keeping the evaporator going (feeding the fire), cleaning equipment, and drawing off to filter and bottle a couple times a day. We have about 400 tree taps on the property, which produces about 120 cases of syrup. You will get to learn how to make maple syrup packaged for commercial sale from start to finish. This is an adventure into a still snowy Canadian wilderness, this is for adventurers!!Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Living off grid in the Canadian Forest. Your host is a paddler, maple syrup producer, builder, and lumberjack, so learning a lot about the rural country life in the forests of Central Ontario.
Would be a good experience for two friends, a couple, or solo travellers. I will try to have 2-5 backpackers out at a time for the 2025 spring/summer/fall seasons.El anfitrión ofrece una paga acorde al salario mínimo

Our small town is 350 people. We have a brewery, small town pub, restaurants, cafe, general store etc. About 15 minutes away there two other towns of 15,000 people for more shopping/outings etc. Muskoka is known for cottaging, camps, tourism and beautiful nature. A big part of this stay is about living on the land for most of your visit. Runs to town for food will be arranged every few days if you don’t have a vehicle. Best for outdoor adventurers!
