👩🎨👨🔧ABOUT US:
I'm Federica and I hope to meet you soon in person.
I am 34 years old and I am from Gignod, a small village close to Aosta, in the moddle of the Alps.
I'm a curious person who enjoy crafting, listening to people and travelling (I am a chronic traveller)
I am keen on climbing, running, hiking and skiing. I want to meet new people from all around the world and I'm ready to speak and learn about your culture!
Together with my partner Didier, we are meeting people from all over the World thanks to Workaway.
Didier blew out 35 candles this year and works for a furniture factory where he takes care of the design part.
I would describe him as a dreamer, passionate about films, books and travel.
🦊 ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Every year we take on a new challenge and it is wonderful. In the past we renovated a flat in Aosta where my sister now lives, and last year we worked non-stop on the house where Didier and I now live. The wonderful thing is that we also look back on the times we spent with our fellow Workawayers and this is a unique richness.
🆕THIS YEAR we decided to renovate my grandparents' house in Buthier. Buthier is a very small village (a 25-minute drive from Aosta). It cannot be reached by public transport, so a car will be essential. If you don't have a car but are inspired by the idea of being literally cut off from the world, tell us and we will think about how to organise it.
The house is rather old but liveable: you can transform it to your liking. On weekends and some afternoons we can work together, so you can spend good quality time. If you need pictures of teh home, let us know.

The places we recommend you to see in the Valley are:
-Etroubles (Small and cozy village)
-Lago del Gran San Bernardo (one of my fav places actually)
-Pont d'Ael (on the way to Cogne)
The non-demanding hikes (max 3 hours with an adequate altitude difference) that we recommend in the Valley are:
- Le cascate del Ruitor (La Thuile)
- Rifugio Prarayer (Bionaz)
-Rifugio Chaligne (Gignod)
-Rifugio Montfallère (Saint-Nicolas) --> Amazing sculptures on the way
-Rifugio Benevolo (Rhèmes)

Alojamiento
EXPECTED HELP:
We normally espect an help of 3 hours a day, as we are not providing meals.
We invite you also to work more during one day and take full days off! The Valley it's amazing and you have to enjoy you time here! You will actually stay in the home that we want to renovate, which means that you can actually decide "how to change it".
MEALS:
The kitchen is at your disposal.
As you will be living in your own, we are not providing food as we discovered in the past that can be complicated for our workawayers. For this reason will not take care of your groceries.
ACCOMODATION:
You will stay in Buthier, a small village in Gignod. You ABSOLUTELY need a car to stay there.
Buthier is about 15minutes driving from Aosta.
The home is quite old, it would be a real adventure for you!
Curious? You can text us in order to see the pictures of the flat!
EXCEPTIONS:
If you plan to stay only two/three days, maybe we can manage to host you in our flat and you won't need the car.

TIME TOGETHER
We always enjoy spending time with our guests, whether it's for a homemade aperitif, a mountain walk, a hike, a ski trip, or simply a chat.

If you love climbing, cycling, trekking, skying and the amazing landscape of the Alps, this would be the right place for you!
We live in a small city that is just at the border with France and Switzerland, so there's the chance to have also some trip there (especially to Chamonix and Martigny, also by bus).
Aosta is not so big, but there's everything you might need.

We have internet acces in our home, not in the home were you'll be staying. Of course, you can come over whenever you want.

In case you are travelling with a VAN/Campervan, you can stay in our garden, no need to go the home in Buthier.

Ci siamo divertiti e lui ha lavorato senza sosta, aiutandoci davvero tanto. Ha fatto lavori di diversa natura e si è adattato alle situazioni più disparate: dal dare il bianco, al smontare mobili, al costruire. Spero di rivederlo presto in Valle!
