Hi! I’m Carlo, I’m 35 and I run a community-based project in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily. We work on urban regeneration, cultural projects, and circular economy. We have a pink sheep as a logo, I think it's enough to reach us!
The project was born from the transformation of an old kindergarten and a historic tuff quarry. Over the years, we’ve hosted residencies, summer schools, workshops, and cultural events with creatives and volunteers from all over the world.
Today, the space is alive and evolving. It hosts a small B&B (up to 6 guests), a Community Hub for local activities, and a big garden where we organise small events or just enjoy time outdoors. I live on site and love sharing daily life with people who pass through — each person leaves something behind and helps shape what’s next.
We believe in slow living, shared responsibility, and learning by doing. If you enjoy hands-on tasks, creative environments, and being part of a meaningful project, you’ll probably feel right at home. 🌱

📍 About Mazara del Vallo
We’re based in southwestern Sicily, in a town full of history, contrasts, and Mediterranean energy. Think: narrow alleys, fishing boats, fresh markets, and sunsets by the sea. It’s a great place to slow down, meet locals, and reconnect with nature and community.

It is a cultural space located 1 km from the city center of Mazara. We manage social, cultural, and artistic activities and events to strengthen the bond between people and generate social impact. During your stay, you can:
- Meet other creatives staying in our B&B
- Connect with creatives and professionals in our coworking area
- Participate in our cultural program, including workshops, events, festivals, and art residencies
- Share your skills with others.
Workawayers won't be involved with any business activities in our B&B and they will only help with tasks in our non-profit organisation. I am an entrepreneur and cultural manager focused on sustainability projects. During the day, I work on fundraising and project management. I'd love to share my knowledge and expertise with other professionals!
I hope to learn something new from the people I host, their stories, and their visions of the world.

It is a place of interaction, knowledge, and hospitality. We envision hosting dynamic, creative, and motivated individuals. The profile of our guests is tied to the activities at the moment.
Primarily, we expect workawayers to help us manage the space, keeping it clean, tidy, and organized. For this action, we search for people with skills in gardening.
On the other hand, we focus on urban regeneration, circular economy, and cultural management, so we would be happy to host any creatives who want to assist us in the development and/or management of our non-profit projects.

Alojamiento
Our place hosts a B&B for six people plus a small studio apartment equipped with every comfort, including a double bed, air conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom. The entire space has very fast Wi-Fi and features an eight-station coworking area. The space is also externally video-surveilled and equipped with internal motion sensors.
The space is kept clean, tidy, and well-managed, with the help of the workawayer.
It also includes a shared social kitchen, where each guest has their own space, along with a communal pantry with various ingredients that we share.
We usually focus on consuming healthy, easily digestible, and tasty foods, and we purchase fresh products from local shops. We also intend to delegate the task of purchasing these products to the workawayer, providing the necessary funds.
I'm sure that anyone who decides to join us will feel at home.

Spending some time in Mazara can be a truly fantastic experience. Besides being a beautiful city, we are conveniently located near many wonderful places: archaeological parks, nature reserves, and stunning beaches. Additionally, the wine here is excellent, and the Mediterranean cuisine is truly special.
There are several restaurants where you can taste our typical dishes, often at very affordable prices. Plus, there are numerous nightlife spots where you can enjoy great cocktails and taste fine wines. Upon arrival, I'll provide more detailed information to help you explore our area.
For beaches, in addition to the city center beach, you can find others within a 15 km radius.
To the west, towards Marsala, you'll find generally sandy beaches such as Tonnarella, with numerous beach clubs, and the Capo Feto Nature Reserve, with kilometers of unspoiled coastline.
To the east, towards Selinunte, there is the beach of Torretta Granitola, a fishing village that has become a tourist destination for slow-life enthusiasts. Following that is the dune beach of Kartibubbo, wonderfully wild and a popular spot for surfers and kitesurfers.
Our place is located in the Macello district, in the center of a system of ancient quarries and just 1km from the historic center of Mazara.
We are just 15 minutes walk from the sea, but for those who want it is possible to have bikes.

We have a coworking area with 4 desks (8 spots) available, each with 4+ seating options, A/C and fast Wi-Fi at 200 Mbps. We invite coworkers to follow some rules to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience and to facilitate concentration.

We have our quarry-garden, spanning over 2000 square meters, equipped with running water and electrical outlets. However, the space does not have a bathroom.
