Christian came to stay with us in the Spring and was a really pleasant and knowledgable guy. He was happy to do all jobs we asked and brought lots of equipment with him. He was respectful, clean, tidy and completed everything well. We found initially communication face to face a little difficult but as we all relaxed this improved no end. We would

Communication was great from start to finish. Penny was a nice person and pleasant to be around. She did some light gardening with us for a week and left her room tidy. We wish her luck with her onward workaway experiences.

This is a lovely property in a beautiful and tranquil part of France. The hosts also work constantly on the property, and have put a tremendous amount of maintenance and restoration into their gorgeous home. Nick and Allison are both talented people, and my stay here was special in several ways. I was able to stay in the large suite in the main
… read more house, and it was a real treat with marble bathroom, beautifully appointed bedroom and living area. Allison loves to cook, and every evening after working and running after the animals, she prepared a delicious meal with copious desserts! I enjoyed my time here, especially pruning the large Roses, which were still blooming in the pleasant climate in this part of the world. Allison gave me a nice tour of the nearby villages as well. I stayed with Allison and Nick for three weeks and found it to be a very enjoyable experience. The accommodation provided was of a very high standard with it's own kitchen and bathrooms, although there was no need to do any cooking as Allison provided excellent meals throughout my stay.

The grounds of the property are extensive and in a very pretty location. The nearest small village has a cafe/restaurant and was a 10 minute walk away. Allison and Nick were always available to drive to Auvillar, the nearest town, and I walked back to the house via the Chemin de St Jacques.
Nick and Allison are excellent hosts, very relaxed and kind. The two dogs and the cat are also very nice. I can thoroughly recommend staying with them all!

We had a great 2 weeks with Vero and she was very easy to get along with. She worked in the garden and did some woodwork preparation for decorating in the hallway when the weather was bad. It is a beautiful property that makes you feel proud to have a small part in! I spent most of my time in the garden: stripping ivy, transforming the lake, pruning trees, weeding, digging over the veggie patch and generally getting the property ready for there guests!
Instructions were easily and clearly discussed the night before, with all the necessary tools provided and a nice balance of being “left alone to get on with it” and knowing there was always someone close by if you had questions was soon created!
Allison and Nick go above and beyond to look after you and are very generous and mindful of doing ‘the right thing’ by you.
