Descripción
Our family has been farming here since 1864, and today we run the farm alongside several holiday cottages, off-grid bush cabins and a small campground. We also host guests who come to the area for walking, cycling, fishing and exploring the Coromandel.
Life here is busy and varied! Depending on the time of year, there is always something happening around the farm and accommodation. Our main focus for Workawayers is helping us with cleaning and preparing our holiday accommodation between guests, along with general upkeep around the property.
We are looking for a couple or two friends who are practical, reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck in. We particularly value people who take pride in doing a job properly and can work independently once they know what needs to be done.
This is in a rural location about 30 minutes north of Coromandel Town, surrounded by farmland, native bush and the coast. It is a great place for people who enjoy the outdoors and would like to experience life on a genuine New Zealand family farm while spending some time in a beautiful part of the Coromandel. -

We enjoy meeting people from different countries and hearing about where they come from, their travels and their way of life. Over the years we have had people from many different parts of the world stay and work with us, and we enjoy the different personalities and cultures they bring to the farm.
We live in a small rural community, so this is quite different from staying in a city or large tourist centre. You will get to experience the quieter side of New Zealand life, meet local people and explore the beautiful northern Coromandel.
We are a working family and everyone has their own daily routines, so we don't organise social activities every day, but we are friendly and welcoming and are always happy to share our knowledge of the farm and the area. -

We are mainly looking for help with housekeeping and preparing our holiday accommodation for arriving guests.
The tasks includes stripping and making beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting, removing cobwebs, cleaning windows when required, and making sure each accommodation is presented to a high standard before guests arrive.
There may also be some laundry, light gardening and general cleaning or upkeep around the accommodation and property.
Some days are busier than others depending on guest changeovers, so we are looking for people who are flexible, reliable and happy to work as a team. Attention to detail is very important to us – we want our guests to arrive to accommodation that is clean, tidy and welcoming.
Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience would be great, but a good attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important. -

Alojamiento
We provide a private staff cabin for two people free of charge during your stay with us.
The cabin is simple, clean and comfortable and is located in the area. Bedding is provided, and you will have access to nearby shower and toilet facilities, as well as free Wi-Fi.
Please note that the cabin does not have its own kitchen or cooking facilities. You will need to bring your own basic cooking equipment and utensils, such as a portable cooker, pots, pans, plates and cutlery. We can provide information about the facilities available before you arrive so you know exactly what to bring.
Food is not provided, so you will need to purchase and prepare your own meals. As we are in a rural location, we recommend arriving prepared with groceries and having your own transport is a definite advantage.
Paid position $23.95 per hour + 8% holiday pay - The normal start time is around 9:30am -
Algo más...
On your days off there is plenty to explore if you enjoy the outdoors. We are close to beautiful beaches, walking tracks, fishing spots and native bush, and Coromandel Town has cafés, shops and other activities. Waitete Bay is only around 10 minutes away.
Please keep in mind that this is a working sheep and beef farm. There will be farm vehicles, animals and normal farming activities happening around you, and we ask everyone staying here to respect the property, animals, gates and farm rules.
Our location suits people who enjoy the countryside, nature and a quieter lifestyle. It probably won't suit someone looking for nightlife or who wants to be within walking distance of shops and cafés.
Mobile phone reception can be limited in parts of the farm, although Wi-Fi is available at the staff accommodation.
We are looking for people who are respectful, tidy and comfortable living independently. In return, you'll have the opportunity to spend your time off exploring one of the most beautiful and less touristy parts of the Coromandel. -

Digital nomads are welcome. Free Wi-Fi is available Our housekeeping schedule is based around guest departures and arrivals, so on working days we need you to be available for the required changeovers, usually starting around 9:30am. If you have online work, it will need to fit around your agreed housekeeping hours. If you can work flexibly, our quieter days and time off can provide plenty of opportunity for your own online work.

Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
We have plenty of space on the farm for Workawayers travelling with their own campervan, motorhome or self-contained vehicle. There are powered and non-powered camping areas available, with access to shared shower and toilet facilities and Wi-Fi in designated areas. If you are travelling in your own campervan or motorhome and would prefer to stay in it rather than use the staff cabin, you are very welcome to do so. We can discuss the best place for you to park when you arrive. This is a large rural property, so there is plenty of space and a peaceful countryside setting.
