  Kia ora (Hello and well wishes)
  My name Is Ian, and I am a single father to an absolutely amazing 6-year-old girl named Blessing.
  
  We have spent almost 4yrs in a house-truck traveling both islands and capturing memories and images shared with people around the world and followed by over 125,000 people on Facebook.
  
  We have shared some absolutely magical times with our workaway guests and have had an absolute blast getting to know them in deep and meaningful way as well as light and playful too :)
  
  We have a wonderful little place in Christchurch and due to having to have some operations soon will once again need the help of another outstanding human to assist with getting my daughter to school and some light duties.
  
  We enjoy, beach fishing, camping, the outdoors and nature, quiet times and meaningful connections to people and nature.
  
  Sharing from the heart and not just the normal meaningless conversations are what we love most. We look for open minded and raw people that are not shy to be open and speak honestly and with meaning.
  
  If you love nature, being free, exploring and just getting out and having fun but also love the comfort of home and relaxing then we might be the host for you!
  
  We run some community photography programs and help youth at risk, ladies from domestic abuse and the wider community and would love your assistance on photoshoots :)
  
  As you will see by my reviews you will be in for a treat, and we love to go the mile for our guests, or should I say family because all who have come and been with us are part of our hearts forever.
  
  I aim to satisfy and give you more then we take.
  
  Happy to teach you photography, carving greenstone, carving wood and share cultural experiences with you, some lifechanging!

  PLEASE NOTE UPDATED 15/12/2024
  I've had to sadly update my profile to reflect my current situation. My health is not great :( I have 2 incurable illnesses that will end up slowly taking my life and independence along the way. I seek people with huge open minds that have hearts that can handle this and that can appreciate a single dad doing his very best for his daughter as long as he can with the help of others along that path. Have you got that heart? Have you got the kindness and compassion and strength? If you do, then I have SO much knowledge to share and impart and in SO many ways! Before illness, past workaway guests have said things like the most intense and amazing experience but now it could be said it's even more so! Meaningful, memorable and most importantly life changing encounters. This is what is different about us anyway, but now I have a reason to share and teach more the stories, the craft, the spirit and the physical realms of understanding the death of who and what we are. Will you be one the people blessed to have that time that is so limited? Will you be the one that is a keeper of things told; knowledge passed on? Or are you on the same path as most mindlessly going on a self-serving adventure with little meaning? If you think a life changing look into the worlds of others and truly be part of what is unique and also accepting then please, dont wait too long to message as I will be VERY limited in whom I bring into our limited time and who we share such potent energy with.

  Having deep roots in the local area and ALL over the country with programs we have run you will have a meaningful and well-connected experience with us. We can offer you the ability to learn wood carving, jade carving and hunting and fishing for food if interested. Staying with us is different to most as you will read in our reviews etc as we are very relaxed and open people. We will share with you from all parts of our lives and gift you the time, energy and attention you deserve. Staying with us is simply put, real, raw and rewarding.

  I seek someone that is open minded and loves Kids!
  Playing with my daughter is always a joy to all who spend time with her, and she will warm your heart from the start.
  Some simple help like washing dishes after dinner and playing with Blessing is about all I really would like help with and happy to include you in our day-to-day activities as a member of our family :)

  Alojamiento

  Due to our apartment only being 2 bedrooms the accommodation will be a simple mattress set up in the living room. This open plan living mimics the ancestorial living style of my ancestors and connects you closer to the earth whilst still feeling connected to our whanau (family). For privacy you will have the use of Blessings room to change along with the bathroom naturally.

  Please note that my daughter is the most important thing in my life. So we need to have a good open communication if there is any problem, as her wellbeing is my number one priority :) We will be happy to show you around and do things most simply don't get to do with "standard" hosts :)
