Hi there! I'm Beverley, a widow and proud mother of two amazing sons, Leo and Patrick. We are a happy family who loves adventure and living life to the fullest. We have been welcoming people from around the world into our home since 2008. We are interested in meeting other country folk and learning about their culture and lifestyle. Suppertime is always the highlight of the day as we take time to sit down to good healthy food and share conversation and stories about our day.
Cooking is one of my passions so I like to spend time in the kitchen preparing tasty food from different cuisines. I also love playing and relaxing with my children who are the light of my life! Leo is 17 years old and is crazy about soccer. He breathes, eats and sleeps soccer and is a fan of FC Barcelona. Patrick is 14 and loves anything to do with tinkering and building. He is into skateboarding and basketball.
We live in the quaint city of Duncan on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia. We are surrounded by beautiful nature and have mountains, ocean, rivers and lakes all around us.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We are a loving, fun and kind family and hope you will join us in our free time. At home we enjoy playing board games and watching movies. On the weekends we like to visit new places and explore the amazing nature on Vancouver Island. If English isn't your native language, this would be a wonderful opportunity to improve your English skills as you completely immerse yourself in our warm and comfortable environment. I am an English teacher and would happily give lessons for you to improve your communication skills. We offer guests a chance to become a part of our family and to experience the beautiful easy-living atmosphere here on Vancouver Island.

This opportunity would be from April to June, or whatever suits your schedule.
My son is 17 years old and has aspirations of playing professional soccer. He belongs to an academy and needs to improve on his technique and performance. I would like a soccer trainer to work with him to help him achieve these personal goals. Please message me so we can discuss this possibility.Idiomas hablados

You are free on Saturdays and Sundays to do what you like or you can join us when we do fun activities and sightseeing. There are free shuttle buses to two local pubs that will pick you up from my house and bring you back if you'd like to go out to mingle with locals and enjoy live music and good craft beer. There are buses that go to Victoria (one hour travelling time) and return in the evening. You are welcome to use my vehicle to drive into town in the evening when I don't need it. There is also a bike for you to use.

It was my first time doing Workaway and I couldn't have found a better family.
They treated me like one of the family and I have no words to express my gratitude to them.

There is a beautiful area and it was wonderful to stay in the family's lovely home.
I mostly helped teaching Japanese to one younger boy. He couldn't write and read three different types of Japanese alphabets before, but now he is able to. (In the case of Kanji, his level is basic.)
I also learned Japanese… read more
