The two months I spent were amazing and Ralf was the greatest host. The work was always well assigned and divided and he always made sure we had everything we need. He is the kindest and most thoughtful host. More than a volunteer place it is a family and I am forever happy I am part of it.

Lucia left two days ago, after two months here. We will miss her! First, because she fit well into the team and was always friendly, helpful, and observant of house rules. … read more experience in the arts and can meaningfully contribute to the administration of an artist residence and can also help with the hanging of artworks at an exhibition.

To meet Ralf at his newly created residency was everything I could hope for and so much more. In this world of nuttiness I find myself pondering loads about truthfulness and humankind, and I certainly stepped on a privileged household with Ralf. His vision, project, perspective on social matters and fight for justice is what first led me to his
… read more offer. But what I found was much more. In terms of being a wholesome person I would say Ralf is one of the most kindhearted and thoughtful humans I met. He helped me from the very beginning to get used to the place and everyone (Jaime <3) not that it was not easy to do. The place is a gem. In the middle of nature but well connected to several towns, the potential of activities is immense. And Ralf includes you in so many of his personal plans you get to explore a lot, both socially and geographically. Him being in my hometown - a place I left 15 years ago- makes it very special for me, and the fact that he’s building a community to fight and try to stop abuse from power and negligence in politics makes him outstanding. I can only hope I will be able to return soon and surround myself by this gentle energy again. Friendship at its finest🤍
It was wonderful to have Norah here for a while. First of all, she is a very nice person, incredibly helpful, funny, warm, relaxed, respectful, and intuitive. She came and immediately found her space and carved out things she could be helpful with, creating a guide to the residence, cooking incredible meals, turning vast amounts of plums into jams
… read more and chutneys and sauces, tending the garden while I had to be away for a few days, looking after my cats, and always giving good advice about what needed to be done as a next step to get the artist residence and grounds up and running. We will miss her a lot and can highly recommend her to anybody who could benefit from her many skills and talents. We hope she will come back here some day. What was beautiful as well was how much we could trust Norah, not only with the tasks we had discussed, but also in finding small and bigger other things she could do to make the place and the experience more beautiful. Finally, Norah is accompanied by Sail, her dog, who is as wonderful as she is. Thank you!

It was wonderful to have Ohia with us for five weeks. We had selected her mostly because we needed a website fast and did not have any money for it, and she delivered 100% and worked collaboratively with everyone who needed to provide text and/or input. After 3 weeks, we had a great web site, and it would have been faster had we been able to keep
… read more up. She also helped us establish other social media presence. We had also selected her because it seemed that she shares our values and principles, and so it was. She became a full member of the small team, always respectful, straightforward, non-judgmental, and warm. And yes, she also made us laugh a lot! We can highly recommend Ohia to anyone who needs a volunteer with her abilities, and also cares about establishing a human connection. Thank you!

Ralf has a great vision for the artist residency, and I was excited to contribute to the project by helping with the website and organizing the opening event. I think
… read more Ralf is a genuinely kind and caring person with a real understanding of what it is to be a person in this sometimes crazy world. There is an energy of true acceptance and support here.
The experience felt even more special because Ralf and everyone were so inclusive. I was always invited to join on trips, especially to the coast, which gave me the chance to explore parts of Galicia that I had never seen before and time to bond with Ralf and the crew. I think my stay here was a good mix of productive work and creating community and I always felt appreciated for my efforts. For me the residency is the perfect distance from the little town of Palas de Rei so a walk through the forest in the morning or evening was really joyful. The accommodation that Ralf provides is beautiful and I never needed to ask for a thing. My favorite times were communal meals, which we had a lot of.
If you’re looking for a place where you can contribute creatively while being part of a warm, supportive environment, I absolutely recommend this place and working with Ralf. It was an experience I will cherish for a long time and I know I've got friends and connections for life.Fotos
