Hi,
we are two families living and working on an organic farm. The farm is located in western Germany near the cities Cologne (about 60 km), Düsseldorf (40 km) and Wuppertal (10 km). We are on this farm since February 2010 and still developing it in a way we would like to live and work here.
On our farm there are 90 chicken, 20 cows, 8 pigs. From spring on we will plant vegetables, too. We are selling our products by our own delivery service and in a cafe located on the farm.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

If you like you can learn some stuff about organic farming, caring for animals and vegetables. Certainly we can talk German if you like to improve your German language skills. And you will meet some quite nice people, I think.
Ayuda
Help would be useful in any way you can imagine. You can plant and harvest vegetables, care for the animals, cook for everybody or fall in love with our weed whacker.
Idiomas hablados
Alemán: Fluido

The rooms we can offer are quite simple. But in the big old farm house you will find everything you need to feel comfortable (kitchen, bath, shower).
Algo más...
The surrounding cities offer a lot of museums an theaters and what ever you like. Our place is quite rural but the next train station is only 4 kilometers away. From there you reach the cities Wuppertal and Essen directly. To Düsseldorf it takes about 40 minutes and to Cologne about one hour by train.

Daily we would meet in the morning with the whole team and be given tasks for the day. The meetings are all in German so it’s hard to know what’s being planned, so it’s a good idea to speak with Ulli or… read more
This was one of my best WWOOF experiences. Ulli's and Alex's farm is real business, and I was able to learn a lot about dairy farming here. They are used to having volunteers, so everything was well-organised: I was told straight away which days and hours I must work and when I have off. I mainly worked with the animals: cows,… read more
All the people on the farm are very kind and make you feel welcome. The farm and the neighborhood is amazing and are perfect for some quite and relaxing time away from the cities.
A very nice hospitality including good food too!

I learned a little bit of gardening and recycling. Sometimes I packed potatos, cleaned the kitchen, harvested tomatoes, etc.
Also I had to weed in the field which is hard work, but the view is really cool there.
I visited Langenberg town that is really charming and is very close.

Finally I've write to you...I was in this farm only for a short time (one week) so I can't say too much about this place but my impression was really good!!! There is a large group of people working there so that makes the work easier and funny!! All good people and the house where the volunteers lives is very big and… read more

My only trouble has been that I haven't stayed long enough. There is much to see in the surrounding area, with towns easily accessible by foot or bike and a short train trip to several major cities.

My friend Emma and I worked on the farm for 3 weeks. We really enjoyed our time here, and even got used to the early mornings (though I'm sure you'll dispute that). The group are really nice people, and they can cook really well. As an Australian, going in winter to Germany was interesting, but I… read more
