We are an English family living in Cairo for over ten years. We mainly do desert riding around the pyramids. Can take non riders or experienced riders and we instruct where needed. Our horses are treated very well which is rare in this country. We pride ourselves on giving the horses and the riders the best experience possible concentrating on safety of the rider and horse as this is paramount. We have 21 horses ranging from Falabella up to 16. 2 hands, a 2.5 year old camel called Humpfry and four very large dogs. We mostly have expat customers who wish to be part of a safe ride with happy healthy horses and we do week long riding holidays for experienced riders.

I am looking for horsey people who are experienced riders. I need confident people who can handle helping me take the rides out or take a ride out unsupervised ( with help from the guide/myself or the grooms). They must speak English well enough that the clients can understand. I have some young horses who need to go out with our rides so a quiet, confident seat would be proffered.
The person must be able to listen to instructions and carry them out in a professional, safe manner. The person working with the horses MUST be able to ride well and be able to instruct the clients to help them improve their skills. There is a weight limit for our horses which is 75 kilos. They must be proficient in tacking up horses ready for a safe ride and to oversee any medical care needed plus watch the farrier, clean tack, give medicine and other bits and bobs. Our rides are generally two hours long and consist of walking, trotting, cantering and galloping. On the longer rides we can be doing up to 65 kilometres a day. It's not a hard job just management of our grooms and some basic teaching of the riders. This person has to be able to chat with our guests/riders and also point out any problems with the day to day care and when not riding, help with exercising the little ones who need walking. We are also training a camel at the moment who is coming up three years. They have to be capable but quiet and strong to put across their thoughts to the other members of staff in a kind but firm manner and be another pair of eyes, hands and ears for me. It's a very relaxed environment with only a few set daily chores. Self motivation is key. A happy, mature demeanour and a team member approach is very important.Idiomas hablados

We have extensive knowledge of the area and all the sites here and a car and driver to be used when available. There is also a good taxi service available. We live in a very safe country style villa very near to the Giza Pyramids, Abu Sir, Sakkara and Dashur. It's a twenty minute drive into town and we live near to a place called maadi where you can shop and go on sail boats on the Nile. There is also A Polo club near to us and we are very much involved in the local horsey scene. Most people find it easy and a fun place to be. We are very relaxed here and enjoy having new people joining the team. It's a safe environment to enjoy seeing the sites from.

Nicola welcomed me so nicely and I didn't feel like a stranger for very long, right the first evening we went around the village. She was very trusting with us workawayers, allowing me to visit some egyptian friends I had made even before I came to Cairo, and always making sure I was safe. The work around the… read more
