We thoroughly enjoyed having Clara to stay with us. Clara was very helpful, nothing was a bother and she approached every task with great enthusiasm. We stayed with Joanne and Reed for two weeks and they were absolutely top-notch hosts!
Their hospitality was outstanding, and we felt so welcomed and comfortable during our stay. We mainly helped with weeding and painting the inside of the recently built glasshouse, which was not too hard but very rewarding. They were easygoing and flexible, and

They live in a gorgeous modern home with the cutest and funniest dog duo ever, Bisou and Bentley. Our accommodation was a lovely, spacious bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Joanne is an exceptional cook, and she went all out preparing delicious meals every day, as well as baking the yummiest cakes and bread. Reed always offered us his homebrewed beer and wine which were the best!
Joanne and Reed have a great sense of humor and we had many interesting conversations, especially at dinnertime. We had lots of fun playing with the dogs and enjoyed the great views and sunsets from their property. They also took us on a few rides to see some cool places in the area.
Definitely recommended if you are looking for a top-quality exchange in a beautiful location with fun and laid-back hosts, excellent accommodation and the best homemade food you will eat in New Zealand 😊This Workawayer has chosen to keep their profile private.

Joanne and Reed (and Bisou & Bentley) welcomed me for a few weeks. Very nice people that showed me how life in Northland is. I got to help them with building a glasshouse and general maintenance of the house and they even helped me on setting up my van.
And also, best bread (homemade of course) of New Zealand!

Gil came to us for one week upon his arrival in New Zealand. We found him to be very considerate and helpful. He was interested in helping with outdoor projects especially with the glasshouse my husband is building. He did a great job and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. We spent more than a week with Johanne and Read, they are wonderful people who made us feel at home from the very first minute.
Their house is incredible and Johanne went out of her way to make sure we never got bored.
Our job was to repaint the front of the house and it was really fun to do that with Read!

We had just arrived to the country when Joanne and Reed took us in, and they gave us a magnificent welcome! It was definatley a culture exchange, the accommodation was over the top and so was the food. Their home is remote, so we recommend having a car, cuz it's many nice places to visit just a small drive away :)
