For us she did a variety of jobs like chopping kindling, gardening, planting, weeding, clearing, picking up horse manure, feeding animals, taking care of horses (and rug changing etc), house minding, light housework, house and pet-sitting too. Maria is very good company, easy to live with, has a good sense of humor, is tidy, considerate, good with the children and generally kind, lovely and interesting to chat with about our different lives and cultures and life in general. … read more taking the dogs on long walks, feeding the horses in the mornings and evenings, spending time with the goat and the rabbit, and cuddling with the cat in the evening.
There is a lot of flexibility and independence given when it comes to the work so I never felt overburdened, and I was encouraged to take time to explore the surrounding area. it really felt like the ideal workaway experience, and I feel very fortunate to have gotten to stay here.

We were extremely fortunate to have Argelia's excellent help as a house and pet sitter. While we were away over a 2-week period Argelia fed and cared for; the horses, goat kid (bottle 3 times a day), rabbit, dogs and cat. She walked the dogs. She maintained a very very clean and tidy house and made sure the fire was lighting and the house was

On days when the weather permitted, she was busy outdoors weeding and collecting horse manure as well. On rainy days she offered to do more indoor work when we needed help catching up with stuff in the house. I really enjoyed her company. She is a lovely, smart, mature, independent, well-travelled and very grounded person.
I found her to be always cheerful, helpful and appreciative of her surroundings, which makes her an easy person to be around and really good fun to chat with too. I highly recommend Argelia as an excellent workaway person to host if you are lucky that she comes your way!

You will stay in a beautiful room with bathroom on one end of the house which will provide you with excellent morning views on the Wairarapa mountain range and quite a few rainbows. I stayed with the family over Christmas and had a nice Kiwi holiday as well as trips to Wellington zoo, castle point beach, a horse race and many more that they invited me to.
During holidays you will mostly look after the kids while Aoife is working in the mornings and help with housework like laundry, cleaning or tidying up.

I spent the Christmas holidays and new years eve with them and was part of the family. Aoife and Lyndon invited me to do everything with them together but didn't bother if I had other plans. I got lots of time off and my working hours were very flexible. Aoife helped me to get in contact with lots of other girls. Aoife and Lyndon gave me the possibility to experience a real Irish kiwi family:)
