I was able to spend a week with this lovely family. I had an incredibly great time and was warmly welcomed. They involved me wherever they could and we did a lot together. I also had a lot of fun working in the garden and your dog was very happy every time he was allowed to accompany me on my walks, but the feeling is mutual.

We loved having Sara to stay! She slots in perfectly to family life, chatting and relating with everyone. The children all loved hanging out with her and I greatly enjoyed hearing about her rich and diverse life experiences.

… read more my business and then also of our family. It was an amazing experience that we had never imagined coming to us through a workaway. She is extremely professional in everything she approaches and an absolute pleasure to share our lives with. I recommend her to everyone and wish her the very best!

We greatly enjoyed our time with Lisa. We loved hearing about her interesting job back home spotting fires and chatting with her about her travels.
I can honestly say I have never meet a harder worker than Lisa, all of the younger travelers I have met had nothing on her! She comes in ready to give it her all and with a huge range of skills to
… read more share. I had a party to prepare for on my hobby farm and Lisa came in and tackled it all like it was no big deal, she had it all looking beautifully mowed and trimmed in no time. After that she turned her attention to building a garden bed for me in my glasshouse using her knowledge from working in greenhouses back home. I was thrilled with the outcome. She works independently and uses great initiative to get jobs done. I can think of endless tasks she would have been excellent in if only she could have stayed longer!

If only workaway could offer 10 stars, I would give them in buckets. What an amazing couple of weeks with this delightful family. I had the best time - they were kind, friendly, open, fun and really everything you'd want when volunteering in a new country.

… read more house sitting too. I tended to work most mornings stopping for lunch. It was a really fun experience, being out on this beautiful hobby farm overlooking Irishtown, getting stuck in with the garden and spending the days chatting to the family. The meals were delicious, included in your stay and homegrown from the garden. It felt like a really healthy and nourishing place to be.
The family itself are just so lovely. They welcomed me as a family member and I felt like a sort of big sister to the kids, who were warm and friendly. I didn't have a car so they took me along to their trips, allowing me to explore local towns, visit the beach and even see the fairy penguins come into shore to nest. Sarah really kindly took me to her yoga classes also.
I stayed in their caravan outside which was beautifully adapted with a double bed and felt quite luxurious, having been in large dorm rooms before. Id recommend packing layers as Tassie is definitely colder than the rest of aus, but the family kindly gave me lots of blankets and a hot water bottle so I felt cosy and well looked after.
I could go on, this really was such a highlight part of my trip - I'd massively recommend to anyone visiting to stay with Sarah and the family. If you're looking for warm, friendly and open people who have endless interesting travel stories and adventures, this is perfect.
Marie and Florian came to stay with our family for 2 weeks. They were a fantastic team to have on our hobby farm and they achieved a huge amount during their stay. I absolutely loved playing board games with Amber and Reuben, it was so much fun! As the family has traveled a lot, I enjoyed exchanging travel experiences and hearing all about their travels around Australia.
They provided me with tasty, mostly homegrown, healthy food!
It was a perfect balance between work and adventures.
