Good, good – unbelievably good!
Where do I even start? I spent over a month with Fabienne and Bill, and it was an incredibly educational and enriching experience for me.
We were renovating their new property right in the heart of Orlando, and I got to do so many different tasks that it never once got boring.
Sure, there were a few days when we
… read more worked a bit longer, but honestly – all the fun things we did outside of work totally made up for it. It was absolutely fair: if you put in the effort, you get rewarded!
And now they even have chickens and Indian Runner ducks – and yes, I did manage to convince them to get the ducks! 🦆
I didn’t just learn a lot – I also made some real friends. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Oh, and let’s just say… some experiences can only happen in Florida. 😉

The place is very peaceful, but there’s always something to do, so I never felt bored. Both Fabs and Bill were always helpful and supportive whenever I had any doubts. It was a real pleasure working with them, and also with Jasper and Henrik! Bill asked me about my strengths and tried to match the tasks accordingly, which I really appreciated.
Fabs’ food was amazing—she’s a great cook and prepares healthy meals using natural ingredients. That was something I truly appreciated, especially knowing how hard it can be to find that kind of food in the U.S.
Bill is working on a beautiful project, and I can’t wait to return and help again. I’m sure that once it’s all finished, the place will feel like a little piece of paradise. I’m especially looking forward to seeing the little ducks—they’ll definitely bring even more happiness to the place!

It was my first time traveling with Workaway and I could not be better.
I texted them and got an answer from Fabienne 20 minutes later, she invited me to a video call. She showed me their whole house and described everything in detail, without any questions from my side, during the call.

Besides the work, we did many interesting activities, for example, wakeboarding, vine tasting, and mini golf. Apart from this, I meet a lot of new people that became friends of mine.
